We're planning a 50th anniversary party for my parents in 2010. My brother, sister and I have already started putting money aside every month. We plan on using the money for a gift certificate to a travel agency, so our parents can take a BIG trip where ever and whenever they want. You could find songs from the year they were married, find their wedding pictures and have them blown up and framed and placed around the hall. Invite everybody who was in the wedding party, decorate in the colors of their wedding or since it's the 50th, do everything in gold. When you send out the invitations, include a blank card and have the guests write messages or tell stories of the couple. Have them bring the cards with them to the party or have them mail them back to you. The cards can be displayed in a centerpiece so everybody can see them.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only family and friends would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

It would be great for the guests to view all the happy memories and pictures.
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

when my parents 50th came up we had a minister present to have them say their vows again. My father broke down and cried. He told my mom that out of all the women he knew from his past that she was the only one he ever loved and was proud to marry her again. He plans on doing it again in a yr for their 55th. After the 50th ceremony we sent them to France for their second honeymoon. They went there for their fist one and nine months later my sister was born. We jokingly told them not to bring back any surprises. This would make any 50th UNFORGETTABLE.

One of the most common questions spouses ask when confronting a marriage crisis is this: How can I save my marriage if my partner doesn't want to help find a solution? How do I succeed I am trying to save my marriage on my own? Learn here https://tr.im/LbHSM

It is a typical enough story: one partner leaves, the other stays. One remains 'in love', the other is uncertain. Whatever it is that has caused a couple to be apart, the one person who remains bears the prospect, fear, doubt, desire, hope of saving his or her marriage' alone.

Bring together photos of the couple from their years together and set the photos (with pretty gold frames) on tables around the facility...I think it would be neat to have a "This is your Life", "Roast"...where people who are part of their lives talk about things they have done together, funny things...happy things...and stuff like that. Sounds like a fun time to me!

Get the woman to jump out of a cake for the man. Wearing a bathing suit. I think they'd get a kick out of it. And make sure you have good food and their favorite music.
