at least i'd like to think i am worth someones time. I love talking to guys about myself and themselves and i'm not rude. I like to find out about them.I can be a little shy at first but once i get to know them i can be outgoing. People i know say that i am not shy so why do i act different with men. I've had people i know say that i am outgoing and easy to talk to so whats up with no one approaching me when i do occasionally go out

I swear I must have once been your male counterpart. I'm married now and have two children, but I used to have that bit of shyness about myself that you speak of. Thank God I finally outgrew it, but the shyness was a stumbling block for me many times, along with not noticing the "signals" a girl might show if she was even interested in me. The shyness seemed to form an "ice" barrier around me when I finally got brave enough to go talk to a girl I didn't know. The shyness also kind of blinded me to whether or not she was enjoying my presence, so I didn't think I was doing very well at times. I usually never got past the small talk. Years later, girls from my school and others I met along the way have asked me why I never asked them out. What a shock. I honestly thought they weren't interested. It was that signal thing and the shyness. As a guy, I just didn't read it very well. But...hang in there. You sound like a great person so don't sell yourself short. The right "icebreaker" will come along and he'll be worth the wait.

There is nothing wrong with you. It sound you are just right. You didn't mention your age so it is hard for us to help you through this time in your life. Just relax as it sounds like you are in a race to find a boyfriend. You have it right, at least you are out going but maybe you come across as being a little pushy or forward. This is a total turn off to boys that are in the same boat you are in. As they are just as scared meeting or asking you out as you are when meeting them. Boys tend to want to be the aggressors in a new relationship and if you come on to strong once you first meet then it may tend to scare them off. All you can do is just being the sweet young lady you are, maybe hold back a little mystery a little and wait. You are not in a race and you have lots of time. if you think about it guys like it when things are easy. ususally their first impression is that you are a nice girl, and usually nice girls aint the ones givin it up right off the bat. take your time and someoone will put forth the effort to come to you and thats when you know they are interested. let them make the first move. want to feel better about your situation? play hard to get it makes them want you even more.
