Good deeds are only good deeds if done in anonymity. Put that in your Bible and smoke it.

I routinely help out my elderly neighbour by shoveling his driveway or mowing his lawn. His wife just went on kidney dialysis and the whole affair has left the once sharp and vibrant man, visibly weaker and emotionally damaged. I'm not sure if what I'm doing constitutes a good deed, but I feel it is my duty in being a good neighbour.

Plenty, but unlike religious people i don't feel the need to boast about them. I don't expect any reward or anything as i do good deeds because i want to.

I was brought up not to parade my "good deeds" in public. The good I do, I do quietly, without a need for recognition.

we do good deeds everyday, we just don't trumpet them out like others. We do them because we can and want to for the good of humanity.

Pepper's answer originally comes from the Bible. I wonder if she realises it. Look:

3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret.

And I agree, it's not about good deeds. For a Christian it's about knowing God.
