I have an active account with Conn's. If I am late on a payment, they contact me while I'm at work 4 or 5 times on that week. I have already sent 2 certified letters asking them to quit contacting me there and my boss has even told them to stop calling there. They still call. Does anyone know how I can get them to stop?

I am assuming this question applies to the US.

If you have already sent them a certified letter INSTRUCTING them not to contact you at work, the next letter should be from your attorney. You should be suing them for violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act. I promise that will get their attention.

The Fair Debt Act says it is illegal for them to do this. Next time they call at work, tell them you will sue them for violating this law and putting your job in jeopardy. Then ask your boss if he can recommend an attorney to help.

Like the first poster said, you can sue them for harrassment.
But you cannot sue them under the FDCPA unless your state holds original creditors the same as collection agencies.

Obtain a court injunction, although it will cost you lawyer's fees to do so.

IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO CALL MORE THAN ONCE PER MONTH, AND THE FACT THAT THEY CONTINUE TO CALL YOU AT WORK IS HARRASSMENT. ASK TO SPEAK TO THEIR SUPERVISOR, AND IF THEY REFUSE OR THEY CONNECT YOU WITH THE SUPERVISOR, INFORM THEM THAT YOU WILL FILE HARRASSMENT CHARGES AGAINST THEM. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT MYSELF.
