I think that's the most crap, that we must believe in Jesus to go to heaven, when it was god himself who created us to be superior and gave us the power to believe for ourselves, how silly, YOU DO NOT have to believe in Jesus to go to heaven, what about those who are more gullable and believe in Jesus because of this? Huh? Exactly, and what about those who don't believe in things like this because they are more open minded, they concider more opputunities, we are all different and saying that every human must believe in "jesus" to go to heaven is just way too far fetched, we were given the intelligence to believe in what we want to for a reason. "Life is about believing in jesus" no what's the point of that? So a murderer who is a very bad person but believes in jesus, he goes to heaven than?

Faith justifies initially, but works perfect and complete our salvation. If all it takes to be saved is "to confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead" (Romans 10,9) then why must I change? Oh sure, I should change my sinful ways. I should try to please God. But if I don't does it really matter? My salvation is assured?

Salvation is a process of perseverance through faith, hope and love. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that one is justified or saved by "faith alone." On the contrary, man is not justified by faith alone. A person is justified by faith and works acting together, which comes solely from God's divine grace. Faith alone never obtains the grace of justification. Also, the word "justified" is the same word Paul uses for justification in Romans 4,3 in regard to Abraham (so Protestants cannot argue James is not referring to "justification" in James 2,24 unless they argue Pail wasn't either in Romans 4,3).

First, what are you so angry about? Second, Jesus IS real; he was a real person. But you don't have to believe in him to go to Heaven, nor do you have to believe in God. (They're still there regardless of your doubts.) You will go to Heaven when you die, everyone who isn't truly evil will.
Maybe you need to do more reading and research so you can have reasons for your doubts, and you may also be reassured by what you learn. (BTW, I'm not a fanatic, I don't even go to church.)
Being open-minded and considering other options is great, you shouldn't just believe something because it's fed to you (though after a certain point it's called "faith"); but people who claim to be open-minded are often just as close-minded, refusing out of stubbornness to believe what someone tells them. Why can't you just accept that some believe in Jesus and be happy that YOU don't have to? And what's wrong with believing in something/someone that makes you happy, especially in a world that's pretty crappy most of the time?
You aren't asking a question because you are interested in possible answers, you are raving against something that you don't like.

All this magic in the sky was thought up by people who didn't understand how the world works with weather ,astrology physics etc. Its only us down hear. There is no bigger power to blame all our mistakes on by saying it was fate or gods will.Heaven is a pleasant thought to use to keep society in check .To get into heaven under the christian beliefs you have to follow the new testament rules .That's why Jesus was said to have come to earth, to right the wrongs of the old testament. However people put their own spin on it and mentally make excuses for what they do wrong and tell themselves that they still qualify for heaven. At funerals everyone that dies is in heaven. The priest has no clue about the dead persons life but it sound refreshing and comforting to hear .Most Christians ,especially catholics don't have a bible in the house and don't know that the bible says. It says when you die you wont be going to heaven or hell until the end of the world and after judgment day, but that dosent sound pleasent enough. Poor grandma wants to hear that her drunk wife beating husband is in heaven . So If you don't follow the writings of the new testament ,you don't have a chance.Regardless of what your divorced ,remarried adulteress doesn't got to church
drinks, swears, doesn't give at least 10% of her money..mother tells you .

In order to get into heaven you need to live your life as a good person and not break any of God's 10 commandments. If you do that you will have a very satisfying life without worrying what religion is best. Above all don't rely on these TV preachers to show you the way. They are in love with the lime light and living a luxurious life. They beg for contributions while at the same time wearing 4000 dollar watches and living in mansions with servants.

Well I hate to rain on your parade but, God gave us Jesus to be our Saviour and to forgive us for our sins. Through Jesus will be the only way you get into heaven. God sent him to us for this reason and to help giude us. as for people that commit murder and such, if they repent and turn theri lives around, they can go to heaven. But the catch is, your life is like running a race. When you get to heaven you will recieve a crown, and that crown will be as beautiful as the good deeds you did in your life. So a murder, for instance, may only get alittle crown with only a few jewels. Where a life long christian may get a big crown with alot of beautiful jewels. But you will still be in heaven with Jesus. Maby you should read the bible with an open mind and see where is leads you. God Bless.

Yes, a murderer can go to heaven just as you and I can. This may seem at odds with the whole Christian idea but Jesus said, "let those without sin cast the first stone." It truly is a difficult concept to get your hands on, while the pious religious right holier-than-thou among us make it even more so. Hope this somehow helps and God bless you.

Interesting. I've been debating the God vs. Jesus question for years. As a Catholic, I was taught that it was God in three persons.....God, the son and the Holy Ghost--never really learned all that much about the latter in Cathecism.

Anyway, I've asked the question to hard core Christians about the fate of the people who lived BEFORE Jesus was born. I was told "they get a pass" and are in Heaven.

To which I replied..."uh-huh".

So then I posed the query, "That means according to you, all Jews, Buddhists, Hinu, Muslims, Shinto, Daoist, Wicca are all bound for the fires of Hell????"

"Yes"

Then I asked about Pygmy tribes who live along the Amazon who've never seen a white man much less know a thing about Jesus and I was told they're going to hell. Even if they've never heard of Jesus???

Yes was the response.

Gays and prostitutes, too?

"Yes"...was the answer.....then she added, "And most Democrats, too!"

These answers blew me away.

I think God is exists...the omnipotent power that has His/Her hand on the Universe's gear shift.

I think to get into Heaven, one must simply live a good God-like life. Be kind, be considerate..behave.

Why can't believing in God (who Christians believe sits at the head of the "God in three persons" tennet) simply be enough??

Great question.

It is not enough if a person believes in Jesus. He has to lead a Christ like life. That is what will get him to heaven.

Jesus has died to save mankind right from the first man until the last one on earth. His atonement is even for people like hitler but I dont know the intricacies of how people like him can claim it.

As for the people of all the religions in this world, I believe that at the last judgement, the books will be opened and each one will be judged as per his belief or the books which he believed in; and how he lived based on that knowledge on earth.

Those who knew much - much will be asked of them.

u r sooooo wrong.

U have to LOVE Jesus. Much harder than just believing, huh?
lol

U also have to give ur heart to Jesus (Love God and love your neigbours, including the bad ones.) Aslo quite hard.

But its not hard when u have God on ur side. Its actually very easy.

PS: A murderer can believe in Jesus, but does not love him.In fact, people can believe in God and hate him. Unbelievabel, isnt it? Murderers also LIE ( i know, i know, its a shock, but its true) so even if they say that they believe/love God, they could be lieing.

Also, beliveing in God does not necassarily mean "i believe God exists" it aslo means like, u know, if i am standing in from of u and about to do something big, and i say "Do u believe in me?". It does not mean, do u believe i exist, it means, do u believe i can do what i am about to do.

u didnt think it would be THAT simple and easy to show ppl that Christianity is bad, did u? Well, nothing in life is easy.
