The State of New York is in the northeastern part of the United States of America. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. To the southeast is the Atlantic Ocean, and to the north are the Canadian Provinces of Ontario and Québec.
New York City is in the southern part of the state. It is located at the far southeast corner of the "mainland" part of the state, and at the far western end of Long Island. For specifics, and to locate the city on the map, the city's City Hall is located at 40.7133 degrees North, 74.0056 degrees West.
