A neighbor brought me two dogs because she is no longer able to care for them. The only local shelters I know of kills when over populated. I'm trying to find family homes for the two dogs. 1) SHEP/CHOW mix, beautiful rust color, tips of black, 2 yrs old. 2) PIT SHEP mix, looks like a Pitt in the body, head, face, but colored like a german shep. 1 yr old. I have both of these dogs up to date on vacs / worming, They were housebroken, but for the last 6 months been living outside. The Chow mix was originally saved a year ago from the Humane Society a few hours before her turn to be put to sleep, the Pitt mix was found walking along the busy interstate, dodging cars at the young age of 6-8 weeks old. I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet with you. Can anyone make room for these two wonderful dogs?

Don't worry - they WILL NOT be put under because they can't find homes. They MUST go to a good home, and I'll keep advertising until they have good homes. That's why the ended up here in the first place... I care for these animals! Nothing like that will happen to them.

I don't live anywhere near PA (in another country) but I suggest that you contact your local vet and ask if they were able to take in homeless dogs. If not, ask your local vet if they know anybody (customer/friend/relative etc.) that would be willing to take in a homeless dog.

It's great that you are willing to do so much for two dogs.

If these dogs can't find homes, please consider taking them in for yourself. No dog deserves to die because the world is over-populated with dogs.

You might want to list them on Petfinder, they let individuals list animals. You also may be able to find a good rescue group through that website too. There is also freecycle, they let people advertise things they have to give away, but it has to be free, so if you wanted an adoption fee that wouldn't work. Just type in freecycle in the Yahoo Groups area and then see if there is one in your area. Some freecycle groups allow people to list animals, others do not.

We have a no-kill shelter in Erie, PA. If you’re close by, you may want to take them there. It is easily the nicest shelter I've ever seen.
