How to promote good eugenics?

Question

For many eugenics means forced sterilization, Holocaust, civil right violation and so on Hitler did against the Jews. Infact what Hitler did is dysgenics - destroying a good race (Jews).
The humanitarian side of eugenics still remains unknown to many especially our political leaders. Eugenics is the only answer to contain crime, poverty etc. All the proeugenic people I know are very considerate to the poor.

WHAT IS NEOGENICS (EUGENICS)?
It is human genetics applied to alleviate human sufferings and to improve the human gene pool. With this we copy nature’s own reproductive plan (differential fertility). Major social problems like crime, poverty and illness are partly genetic and the remedy should also be genetic. So think genetically and act genetically. Good genetic endowment is the best asset to attain prosperity and except human beings all other living creatures survive and progress in this way.

WHAT CAN WE ACHIEVE?
1. Neogenics bridges the genetic gap in certain superior traits existing between the elite and the average. It compensates the selective migration of superior genetic stock from the poor to the professional, from the rural to the urban areas and from the underdeveloped to the developed nations.
2. Biological socialism leads to economic socialism. All attempts made so far to achieve economic socialism by imposing Marxism/communism have not achieved the desired goal. Capitalist countries witnessed considerable economic progress but failed miserably in equitable distribution of wealth. Biological socialism is the only hope to bridge the gap in wealth between the rich and the poor in a democratic way.
3. Neogenics helps increase the number of good minds and to reduce crime, corruption, cruelty etc. Attempts to transform society through moral preaching have not yielded any lasting results. Genetic transformation of the society will assure lasting peace and harmony. Repeated studies of twins have proved again and again the genetic basis of intelligence and behavior.
4. Racial mingling through neogenics will put an end to violence created on racial grounds.
5. By reducing the incidence of genetically transferable diseases (most diseases have a genetic base), great improvement in health can be achieved and thereby considerable reduction in medical expenditure.
6. Increasing the intelligence and EQ of the common man according to the needs of a civilized and technologically advanced society. The benefits of ascending EQ & IQ in a population are rather beyond our imagination.
8. Neogenics is the only method now available to correct genetic disorders in order to protect the right of the unborn. A child has a legal right to begin life with a sound mind and a sound body.
All these will reduce human suffering and place the human race on an evolutionary track as nature has been doing for the last several millions of years. It may be noted that we are the only species capable of directing our evolution in a manner that suits our wisdom leading to the betterment of our less fortunate fellow citizens and the species as a whole.
HOW TO ACHIEVE BY SIMPLE MEANS ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS GIVING FULL RESPECT TO FREE WILL?
1. Encourage the production of more children among the healthy and the gifted couples.
2. Discourage the reproduction of the habitual criminals, mentally challenged and the sick.
3. Start sperm/egg banks of selected donors of better EQ and IQ for the benefit of the infertile couples (10 to 12 per cent of the population) and for those daring couples who want to bring about improvement of the genetic stock of their future generations.
4. Popularize genetic screening and genetic counseling to prevent genetically transmitted diseases
All the above steps may be needed till the advancement of genetic engineering reaches a level that enables genetic transformation of a society or individual through gene therapy, cloning or other means yet to be discovered or envisaged.

There is no way to promote this idea without creating mass hysteria. The problem is . . . I'm sure when Hitler was instituting death camps and the likes, he and other Germans probably thought it was a case for eugenics. It is history, not the people of the time, that proved him wrong. Secondly, how do we unanimously agree what "good" characteristics are. Thirdly, human genome science is still in its infancy. We do not have a clear map of secondary characteristics - I'm afraid it would be like playing pin the tail on the donkey in the dark. I think eugenics will ultimately be viewed similarly to the nuclear bomb . . . yeah we have it but we'll never use it. Great question though. It's nice to take a break from war.

Promotion is easy: provide education to people so they know the importance and potential disastrous effects of an overpopulated Earth.
Enforcement is a totally different problem. To ensure that everyone plays by the rules on such an important issue, you would have to seriously infringe upon the populations' freedom and human rights. Even with advanced technology that would make males/females have 1 offspring, you would still have to use it without their knowing about it. Because if they did, expect wars.

hmmm... eugenics is not the answer to crime, and definately not poverty. Any person regaurdless of where you come from can become a criminal. And when you start a family no matter what you are always going to have that possible threat of not having enough money. eugenics is NOT the answer!!!

Eugenics didn't come out of evolutionary science but rather out of genetics. Selective breeding does result in less biological diversity - for example there are many fewer types of wild sheep than there were, but now there are many more varieties of the same species. Margaret Sanger, the famous feminist and promoter of birth control, was a racist quite involved in the theory of using eugenics to eliminate black people. Eugenics began in the US and she wasn't a scientist, but she had a loud voice. The Truth About MARGRET SANGER (This article first appeared in the January 20, 1992 edition of Citizen magazine) How Planned Parenthood Duped America At a March 1925 international birth control gathering in New York City, a speaker warned of the menace posed by the "black" and "yellow" peril. The man was not a Nazi or Klansman; he was Dr. S. Adolphus Knopf, a member of Margaret Sanger's American Birth Control League (ABCL), which along with other groups eventually became known as Planned Parenthood. Sanger's other colleagues included avowed and sophisticated racists. One, Lothrop Stoddard, was a Harvard graduate and the author of The Rising Tide of Color against White Supremacy. Stoddard was something of a Nazi enthusiast who described the eugenic practices of the Third Reich as "scientific" and "humanitarian." And Dr. Harry Laughlin, another Sanger associate and board member for her group, spoke of purifying America's human "breeding stock" and purging America's "bad strains." These "strains" included the "shiftless, ignorant, and worthless class of antisocial whites of the South." Not to be outdone by her followers, Margaret Sanger spoke of sterilizing those she designated as "unfit," a plan she said would be the "salvation of American civilization.: And she also spike of those who were "irresponsible and reckless," among whom she included those " whose religious scruples prevent their exercising control over their numbers." She further contended that "there is no doubt in the minds of all thinking people that the procreation of this group should be stopped." That many Americans of African origin constituted a segment of Sanger considered "unfit" cannot be easily refuted.

Eugenics is a manipulation of genetics to favor the conception of a "superior" cohort of people. "Superior" of course is a very subjective term. What is superior to you, may be completely not acceptable to me etc. All eugenic experiments have been a complete failure. The Rapp Communties of the 19th century, the Nazi programs etc were a complete and utter failure--and served to promote human suffering rather than to advance civilization.

This question prompted only one thought in my mind - what else does this person think? One of your other posts is more blatant, and revealing. You say: "Heredity is the main factor behind crime. Certain races are less prone to crime. eg., Japanese of the yellow race. Among blacks the various groups have different levels of crime."

How to promote "good eugenics"? I'm sure you're taking about crimes against humanity and human rights. There is no way this can be promoted by anything other than a hate group. So I suppose the answer is: join your local, friendly hate group of proeugenic people.

To promote good genes, local and state governments should offer free genetic counseling to prospective parents and free birth control to everyone.

Any centrally-planned population control is dangerous. I would never trust an "authority", whether government or corporate or even religious, to decide what constitutes a "quality" life. All life is sacred, and centrally planned life is one step closer to dictatorship.

To contain crime, poverty, etc... you would have to reprogram the human spirit away from self interest.

Can that be done? I don't think so. Survival is ingrained into our species.
