Okey, dokie Chris...
If you are missing Mass because your ill, or an obligation to care for another who is sick, a church is too far away, you worked late the night before, or on the Sunday it is acceptable to miss Mass. Otherwise as stated above you are obliged to attend.
There is no guilt in missing Mass if the circumstances are out of one's control (mortal sin always requires not only grave matter and knowledge, but consent of the will).
The great St. Alphonsus Ligouri suggests doing a "Spiritual Communion" if you are unable to attend Mass.
Here it is:
My Jesus, I believe that Thou art present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love Thee above all things and I desire Thee in my soul. Since I cannot now receive Thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though thou wert already there, I embrace Thee and unite myself wholly to Thee; permit not that I should ever be separated from Thee.

A minister I know wrote a book. Being objective and fair minded like I am, he might have brought this on himself. But he said his wife always "preached" to him!
So one day he told her, "I would rather SEE a sermon, than HEAR one any day!"
Religion is the practical application of spiritual concepts in our daily lives. Associating with positive people. Reading inspirational and motivational material.
But Church, Mosque, or Synagogue, is not the only way a person can worship. There are plenty of positive organizations in our Communities where one can be a part and be an example for thier Faith through their behavior.
But don't neglect the Church that helped you get to where you are today.

If you are unable to go because you have to work or due to your family responsibilities, and youa re not breaking the commandments, then I think it is not bad.
But if you are not going because you dont feel like it then you should find out why you dont like to go. You will know the reason.
Going to church on Sunday is a requirement since it is the sabbath. You are forfeiting a lot of blessings by avoiding it.
Believing in God, keeping the sabbath day holy and paying your tithes are direct way of showing your obedience to God. He doesnt need all these from you for His survival but your obedience to these gives you direct blessings which will bring you peace and happiness in your life.
Try to analyse and see the difference in your life during the week when you dont go to church on sundays and when you go.

Yes, it is bad because all Catholics have the obligation to assist at the Euchristic sacrifice of the Mass every Sunday and holy-day of obligation if you are not seriosly hindered, it is a mortal sin not to do that and you should go to confession.
Sunday and holy-day Mass is not only an obligation it's a great opportunity and a joy.

It is very important for Catholics to go to Mass.
In the Mass, we:
+ Gather as one family
+ Admit our sins
+ Ask God for forgiveness
+ Ask the saints and each other for prayer and support
+ Glorify God
+ Listen to, ponder and reflect on His Word from the Scriptures
+ Pray for the Church, the world, those in need, and ourselves
+ Receive the Eucharist (Holy Communion) in obedience with Christ's command to "do this in memory of me."
+ Are sent out into the world to love and serve the Lord and one another
It is called "Mass" (from the Latin missa) because of the "mission" or "sending" with which the liturgical celebration concludes.
With love in Christ.

why?! within our denomination we are to attend Mass on Sunday (or Saturday in those that provide that day) and holy days of obligation. This is our obligation to God. Someone types about the 10% tithing.... God & your pastor would rather have you there - not your money. 1-1.5 hours a week.... can you not find the time to give God at least that?! If you aren't excited about being able to go to mass to celebrate the Eucharist, maybe you ought to look in to another parish - one that would fulfill your needs. I'm blessed i have two great ones and the array of mass times is wonderful as I often work weekends.
Ihope you find the peace and joy that comes from celebrating the Mass.

Well, it's kind of bad; you have to go to church more often, even if you are Catholic. I'm Christian, so I go every Sunday. One of the 10 commandments are, keep the Sabbath(Lord's Day) holy!

Carl is right. It is a mortal sin to purposefully miss Mass on Sunday and on Holy Days of Obligation. It is one of the Precepts of the Church to participate in the Mass on Sundays and on Holy Days of Obligation.
God bless,

No,I don't think it is. It is good to go to church, but you don't need a church to pray, and sing. You could stay home and do that. But you should go to church whenever you can.
