Because Easter was originally a pagan Rite of Spring... and in the spring everything starts reproducing... including rabbits which are renowned for their rapid breeding. Easter is a fertility festival which, like many others, has been taken over by the Christians

I have answered this question quite a few times myself this week, I agree with Riegan.. I just word things differently, I will just add a couple of things.. So that you understand about the Assimilated Christian festival, called Easter.. Apart from what has been said by Riegan, the female hormone "oestrogen" can claim its roots in the name of the fertility Goddess Oestare, ostern, eostra, or Eostre.. The spelling depends upon which literature you read.. hows that girls? now you know..Secondly I would like to dispel the myth about the cross on hot cross buns being a representation of the Crucifixion cross...Once again that's absolute rubbish, at the feast of Oestre, an ox was sacrificed. The ox horns symbolised the feast and were carved into ritual bread.. The cross is still used today, but as usual the Christians claim it to be their saviours cross..Sorry Easter and everything about it was stolen from the Pagans.. I suggest you all do so research and admit that the learned Pagans answering these questions know what they are talking about, and don't deserve the thumbs down.. Just because a lot you Christians in here are just too ignorant and arrogant to accept the truth.. Blessed Be...,)O(

They are associated with the pagan fertility goddess, Eostre.
Bunnies, eggs, etc.. are all symbols of fertility. The pagan celebration of Eostre (aka Easter) was to honor the fertility of spring. When the council of Nicea met, they changed Passover to Easter to marry gnosticism with paganism and unite the Roman empire.
This is why bunnies, eggs, etc.. are all still a part of secular and christian Easter celebrations today.
Pagans celebrate the Spring Equinox (the person who said Beltane is mistaken as that is the rite of Summer, held on May 1) in much the same way. However, it is celebrated on the actual equinox and not on Easter, who's date changes each year.
I hope this helps.

Originally hamsters were associated with Easter, but nobody really believed they could hide all those Easter eggs.

In fact, many years ago in Oregon, a hamster was mistaken for an egg, and was tragically peeled, salted, and eaten. This has never happened with a bunny.

Actually, I associate the Easter Bunny with dinner. Check out my tribute site at the link below. :-)

People love to talk like they Know Everything and don't know crap.
Pagans are not as ignorant as some think, though they don't everything like they think they do.
Halloween, the time the Spirits are drawn to Earth, is opposite, (6 months later), the time of Christ's Ascension. When He left this World.
Easter is indeed a time of real spiritual forces at work. But it does have pagan symbolism in it.
Like some said, bunnies breed quickly. And they are a fertility symbol. Just like the Easter egg!Showing the power to procreate.
Like we have to do magic to make babies, right?

Bunny`s are related to Easter because a long time ago there was a little girl name unpronounceable and she didn't believe in the Easter bunny. So one night she state up to see the Easter bunny then she saw her bunny Sherman turn into the Easter bunny wow. that's how bunnies are related to Easter.

It is funny; that easter is the only time they lay eggs. Easter comes from the pagan name Ishtrah; a Pagan godess. It should be:
"Passover" but either way the ACLU will object. Anti Christian Litigation Unit.

Without the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, who would call themselves Christian? They're both devious methods to recruit new "believers."
