Golden Retrievers shed profusely. You should brush her at least twice per week.
She will always shed, especially at this time of year.

It is the changing of the seasons and all animals tend to shed more during spring and fall. However.....
Stop bathing your dog so often. Dogs should not be bathed anymore than once every 2 months, especially retriever types who have natural oils in their skin because they are ultimately hunting dogs. You are removing her natural oils and drying out her skin.
If you are brushing her as a sign of affection that's fine but if you are doing it because of the shedding hair then you are actually making her shed more especially in combination of above.
Golden Retrievers do shed - they shed alot. You will be living with retriever hair on you clothes, your furniture and your floors for the rest of the life of your dog. That's just the nature of the breed. You can feed her Canidae (the spelling might be a little off) food which has been known to reduce shedding slightly. If you do decide to change her food do it gradually over the course of a week so you don't upset her stomach.

She's getting her spring coat. I've owned two goldens for the past 7 years. Get used to the shedding! This breed has a lot of fur and shedding is normal.

I have a Golden too, and they shed like crazy all the time. But there are some ways to prevent it (( some that you already did))
*Bathe it every 2 weeks ((not three, because even more hair accumlates))
*Brush with a very good brush that takes out A LOT of hair (( may I suggest going to Petsmart))
* Get the vacum-brush that prevents shedding, you put it on the dog's fur and then it stucks up all the loose hair, and it doesn't harm them what so ever. ((Sorry, I don't recall the name))
Hope this helps!!

Hi! There is nothing else you can do right now. You are being hit with a double whammy with your Golden. One is the time of year and the other is her blowing her puppy coat. It is just that your seeing both happen at once. There is nothing wrong with your Golden at all. I have 2 Big boys here with me and I too am going through this right now. I would suggest that you get a tool called a rake for double coat dogs. It is a wonderful tool with longer teeth and shorter teeth all in one. Not only will it get to undercoat but it also grooms the top coat too. It does help with the amount of fur you can get rid of each time you groom her.
I hope I have helped you.

I´ve got a german shepherd living in the house Our vet explained they shed more than normal cause their bodies reject extra hair due to the warmth of their enviroment. I would add a sardine or some of it´s oil to his/her food.Omega 3/6 is fabulous for shed control. I due it and it works. I don´t have to sweep 2/3 times per day anymore or brush him everyday. goodluck
