As you've got a strong element of red in your natural hair colours, then you've got a couple of choices-
dye or bleach. I'm naturally brown/red and have used both.
Dyeing hair often involves a bit of bleaching, so that you can lay a new colour on top of a more neutral base colour.
I recommend that you experiment. You could start first with bleaching-only, and see how this turns out. If it doesn't give you the results that you want, then you could put a dye over the top of it, subject to the restrictions of the 2 products used. You could also try highlights, which will just modify a bit of your hair, the % done would influence the end resultant effect. Bleaching usually results in a period of red before it goes a fuller bleached colouring, to peroxide blond.
You also do not just have to have 1 colour effect on your hair, you could have highlights with several non-red shades.
As you've got alot of natural red, aim for a dye that doesn't have this colour effect within it. Don't go for the 'goldens' etc. Try a dark brown, something of the likes of chestnut brown etc. You can get dyes that contain more natural ingredients than chemicals, but this is your choice.
You can get permanent and non-permanent dyes, though bleaching will be permanent, until your hair regrows. Temporary dyes usually wash out after a few washes, say 8 to 10. Temporary options would give you a chance to find out the effects and see whether they suit you.
Remember, dyes and bleach typically harm your hair and need to be used with caution.
It is more expensive to get this done in a salon, but at least you're in professional hands. You can be explicit about the desired effects and get some free advice too. If it works to your satisfaction in a salon, then you could then explore this by yourself, or get a friend etc to do it for you.
Remember, accepting yourself is important too. The more you do this, the more others will find it easier to accept you too. This includes our physical selves, as well as our personalities and behaviour.
The summer sun is also going to have an effect on bleached or dyed hair, so discuss this with a professional first, so that you don't get any unwanted shocks.
Good luck! Rob

Hi you can always get it highlighted so that it will tone the red down in the summer. But done use anything like lemon juice or sun in (spray on bleach ) as it still wont lighted your hair to blonde. There is stuff now that avon sell to protect the hair from the heat so maybe it will stop it from turning so red. Just a couple of months before summer get your hair bleached / highlighted at the hairdressers and then you wont have to worry about your hair going red in the sun. The you will get the colour you want them.

this is very commom in men , have you ever notice a fella with log side burns , that the bottom is red a bit , your hairs on your arm pit are blonde this is caused by sweating most men are the same just shave then down a bit but not all off .as for your hair everybody has red in the hair although some people cant see it ,trust me its ther only people who dont have it is albino , you could always put a brown hair dye over your own hair to cover the red but it will still come back sometimes , as for your pubic hair its not like you will be walking the streets naked only your partner is going to see there shave them down a bit aswell , my husband is the same as you and this works for him.
anyway dont use SUN IN as somebody has just wrote , this is the worst product you can put on your hair you would be suprised the damage this can do not only to your hair but your skin, trust me this is my job and ive seen what it does over the years so please stay away from it. hope this helps

Have you tried sun in ?
its a spray peroxide, sounds harsh i know but u do a test strand first , then if u like the colour you wash your hair spray it in and dry with a hair dryer the heat lightens your hair and the sun it can be as dramastic or stubtle as you choose plus it looks like its happened naturally as the sun will continue to lighten it slightly each time too. I costs about £5 a bottle and u get a few aplications in it , ive used it for years im a dark blonde 2 light brown but my daughter is ginger and we both use it my daughter goes a lovely sunkissed blonde with it .

Dye your hair. Always math it to the colour of your skin tone though. Nothing too different or your roots will show very quickly.
Good Luck, dont worry about any of the other stuff, leave that natural, but dye your hair, that should make you feel much better about your self xo
