Check that you have anti-squeal shims fitted behind the pads. If not, fit a set, and copper grease them well. More info on Volvo club website, also well worth joining for future tips.

T5 is one of the best cars ever made by volvo. You can keep going with the sqeeky sound but it is better to get it checked because you need new brake pads. And may be you need to change the disc as well.
But if you are waiting for your salary you can keep on driving till you get some cash in your pocket.
In T5 you are Safe mostly.

ok you have o check out a few things here most importantly make sure your brake pads are just not worn down!!ouch rotors on the rear from volvo are around $200.ok if there fine then check to make sure the brake pads are volvo brake pads i know it sounds funny but every customer we get in that have aftermarket brake pads other than volvo all squeak!then you will need to make sure you have the little square metal shims on the back of the brake pads they are the exact same shape as the the brake pads themselves so look carfulley that and just make sure you have on anti squeal brake grease on back of the brake pads and back of the brake shims. check all these things out and correct whatever you are lacking from this information and i promise your brake squeal will be gone!!!!let me know if theres anything else i can do t o help

The only way to stop it (and it is only temporary) is to strip and clean the rear calipers and grease the revers side of the pads with copper slip. But you will be doing it again in about 5,000 miles.
The reason the squeel is a build up of brake dust and the pads rattling in the caliper.

1] if sqeal is only from one side check for a sticky or frozen caliper
2]machine the rotors and remove rust from mating surfaces of rotor and hub and then smear a thin coat of 3M brake antisize accross entire mating surface of hub and caliper mounting flange [DO NOT GET ANY ON FRICTION SURFACES]
3] bg products has a compound out that you put on the friction face of new pads and let dry before installing them
4] use original equipment pads from volvo

It's when you can't stop it that you should really panic. You'll be grateful it's a Volvo when that happens!
