hi,
even i like better to use openoffice than ms office bcoz of its opensource it has the same features of ms office and also it has pdf converter in it but if you are too much using ms office it will be initially difficult to use thi suite the only drawback it has is it does not have excel projects as in ms office else others it is very good.

It's close enough that I refuse to pay $400 for M$-Office.

Seriously, I bought Office 2003 two years ago and a month later discovered Open Office. OOo reads, modifies and saves Word, Excel and PowerPoint with ease, and it's FREE.

BTW, Office 2003 is for sale, make me an offer.

It's a personal preference...

The difference is:

MS Office = $$$
Open Office = FREE!!!
