Hi ladies (and guys)

I'm 21 lady and have decided to get my lower navel done. However from my research i've seen that people predominately do their upper navel. So:

I am interested to hear peoples lower navel experiences, i.e how is it to look after, any benefits difficulties...and information about the lower navel basically that you think may be useful :)

And aslo the second issue, is i tend to have slight hair that grows on my stomach along the navel line which i normally shave...would this stop me from getting a lower navel piercing!

Thanks every1!!!

Lower navels are a little more difficult than the upper part. Most people don't have a defined ridge on the bottom, like they do on the top. inverse navels should be done with a surface bar. Aftercare is pretty well the same for all piercings (sea salt soaks 2-3 times daily)

You do face a higher rejection rate for inverse navels than with regular ones. Make sure your artist has lots of experience with them. Ask to see pictures of healed inverse navel piercings.

Wait at least 6 weeks before you resume shaving the area directly around the piercing.

Just remember that the risk of infection is higher with a lower naval peircing. It will also get lint stuck in it more than an upper. Otherwise most people find it no different ... As for the hair try Electrolisis or Waxing beforehand. Just remember to wait untill it's fully healed before you try to Shave/wax again afterwards. Ask the person who does the peircing about how long untill then.

Girl, if that's what you wanna do than GO for it! You are right. Most get their upper naval done. So I think it would be cool and somewhat unique to get the lower part done. Before you do it, how about waxing the hair? I hear that lasts longer than the shaving. Never tried it myself. I'm too chicken.(Yet I have 8 tattoos and my tongue pierced. Go figure.)
Have fun and let us know what you decide.

go to http://www.bmezine.com/pierce/07-navel/multi001.html
and there are many pictures of different navel piercings, including lower navels. [personally, i love them. and am getting one next month].. also, if you go to the home page, you will find a link for "experiences" and you can search for lower navel.. many people write about their piercing/tattoo experiences there [it is somewhat like a universal blog]. the website has a lot of helpful info. good luck!

i would assume that the healing process would be no different if you were piercing the top ridge of your navel.
