please give examples, brands and what not about the good carbs and bad carbs. which should i eat??? to loose weight. details please!

Basically, if you really want to lose weight, all carbs will prevent weight loss. The idea that there are good and bad carbs is a marketing ploy.

Read a Dr. Atkins book published before he died and you will learn that a carb free diet produces ketones which are the secret to weight loss. If you eat any carbs ketosis will not occur, which means weight loss CANNOT happen.

My Dr. put me on a low carb diet and I agree it is hard to find good things to eat. I have found some products made my Hodgkins Mills that are really good , 12 grain pancake mix and cereal. Lots of fruit , veges and low fat meat. I am not fond of pre packaged food ( south beach diet entrees) but if you don't mind them they would be a good choice.

The good are complex carbs (whole grain pastas and breads), the usual tend to have a lower GI.

The bad are sugars, candy, cake, etc.

as a rule of thumb, any thing that is low in GI index is good, and anything high is bad. Research GI for ur favourite carbohydrates.

read the south beach diet book,,,it explains about the good and bad carbs...i stay away from all the white starches,( white bread,white potatoes,white rice )
