I do the same thing. I'd rather sleep in and rush to get out the door than just get up earlier. So, what I came up with that works really well for me is to pop a refrigerated english muffin in the toaster. My grocery store in the freezer section has frozen egg patties (definitely not as bad as it sounds). Pop one of those in the microwave. My grocery also has microwaveable sausage patties. Pop it in the microwave. Then put it all together. You can add a piece of cheese if you want. And you have an egg mcmuffin. And it only takes 2-3 minutes total. I have the english muffin and one microwave item cooking while I'm brushing my teeth. Then change out and put the other item in the microwave while I'm putting my shoes on. No time lost and you just got protein, calcium, wheat, etc. and it will stay with you longer since it isn't a sugary item. Plus I just wrap it in a paper towel and eat it in the car on the way to work.

Muesli with milk and yoghurt and anything else you want to throw on top like fresh or dried fruit. It should keep you full for hours and is very nutritious. If you really lack time in the mornings you can acutually prepare your muesli the night before (milk and all) and put it in the fridge. It is easier to chew and digest because it has been soaked in the milk.
Smoothies are good too with some fresh fruit, milk, yoghurt, LSA mix and honey but won't keep you as full for long.
Wholegrain toast with avocado is a favourite.

Old fashioned oatmeal made in the microwave (4 minutes). Add raisins, protein powder, and walnuts (small amount). This way you will have low glycemic index carbs, protein, omega 3, and omega 6 fatty acids.
Here is a sample meal plan.

The best breakfast that a person can have that will stay with them so that they don't get hungry and is extremely healthy for them has since our grandparents days been porridge made from rolled oats. They now have a faster cooking rolled oats than they used to. Spray your pot with pam before cooking to keep oats from sticking to pot. This is great in cold or damp weather because it also helps to keep you warm. Most people put brown sugar on top and pour on milk, like you do cereal. With microwaves and plastic storage containers , you can make this ahead at night if you like and enough for a couple of days and put in bowl and zap it in the microwave in the morning - about three minute warm up for anything from fridge. Quaker also puts out instant oatmeal which is good for you but not as filling, if you decide to have an envelope or two of these that you just add hot water to from the kettle and stir you should also have 1 or 2 pieces of toast with it for a solid. The body prefers warm solid food in the mornings. Although a glass of fruit juice like orange juice or an orange and grapefruit are healthy with this, if there is no time for fruit, take it with you for your morning snack or work break. The instant oatmeal comes in different flavours which some enjoy.
Variety is best if you can manage it, however a lot of people get in the habit of cereal every morning to be fast and fairly filling, depending on the brand. Unfortunately it is often the same cereal all the time for them. The original cereals are the best for you. The original kellogs cornflakes, unless watching your weight, then Special K. The original shredded wheat, which looks like wheat pillows, and bran flakes, also raisin bran because raisins are good for you. All bran maybe twice a week to keep you regular and for this also but wait for the weekend for this -- a bowl of prunes which is very good for you. These cereals are healthy for you, the mistake people make is putting too much white sugar on them, especially if they drink coffee with sugar too, throughout the day. For most people tea without sugar, with milk is healthier. Since these original cereals, the companies got competitive for the market and a lot of sugar laden and sweetened coloured cereals filled the shelves mostly at first to attract children but then also adults. There was another original product similiar to porridge which was good for a person, I think it was called cream of wheat but I'm not certain, because I never personally liked the taste. Recently various cereals have come out which are good for you and have nuts raisins almonds etc. in them etc. but these take a lot of chewing and time to eat. If you stick to the old standby's you can take your almonds or raisins as a snack to work and some people take some of these trail mix type cereals as a snack to work to just munch on without milk.
An egg twice a week for breakfast with toast has always been a fairly fast breakfast, it doesn't take long to boil and egg or poach one in water. For those who don't want to stand and watch their egg boiling and are afraid the water will boil away on the stove. There is a plug in egg boiler from as seen on tv. that shuts off when your egg is cooked according to your liking -- soft medium hard. There are also various fast ways to cook eggs in the microwave. One recipe - in a bowl beat three eggs, add a bit of butter and some milk and beat again with fork, microwave about three minutes, stir in any remaining liquid and microwave from 30 seconds to a minute longer -- nice fluffy eggs. You can have bacon or sausage twice a week -- 3 slices of bacon on a plate takes 3 minutes in microwave - 6 - six minutes - about a minute per slice -same with sausage- you could defrost sausage the night before and peel off the skin , having it ready in fridge to cook. You can cut three slices of bacon into small pieces and break an egg over them on plate -give a quick stir and zap for three minutes. Yolks of eggs and bacon or sausage twice a week are a good breakfast as long as you don't have to watch cholesterol. They are hot and filling breakfasts that stay with you if you have some toast with them - preferably whole wheat. There are also substitutes available such a turkey bacon.
Basic toast with honey, corn syrup or maple syrup is actually very healthy for a person -- a lot of health benefits from all three -- they are sugars but natural sugars and if you watch refined sugar -- these are good for you, as long as you aren't the type to get a headache from such a sweet breakfast. During the weekday it is hard to make pancakes and waffles from scratch fast. There are frozen waffles and pancakes that go in the toaster and make a hot filling breakfast and you can have these syrups on them but although I admit it using them occasionally , I don't like added chemicals in frozen fast foods. Also in artificial syrups. You want the genuine syrup, mollasses is also a natural sweetener and very good for you.
Other days, making sure that jams and jellies are the lowest chemical additives ones you can find with no artificial sweeteners and as low as sugar as you can get, these help to give you your fruit allowance. and a lot of people like peanutbutter and jam. There is a new almond butter out now too.
In summer sometimes fruit from a can such as pears or peaches put in a bowl and eaten with bread or toast is good and you can dip the bread in the juice. The main thing is to watch the amounts you eat and aim for variety in your week.
Solids stay with you better than liquid breakfasts, they also get your system burning calories properly and your brain functioning correctly. Apparently best if you are eating within 15 minutes of getting up. I know however some people are not prepared to swallow anything but coffee or tea that soon on getting up. Don't forget that a slice of pizza can be one of the healthiest and most filling breakfasts and can be warmed up in the microwave. Also any little piece of cheese and piece of meat can be a good breakfast with fruit and even creamcheese on bagals with a slice of tomato on top can be okay, I would toast the bagals. Have fun an experiment -- remember variety is best but those cereal bars and yogurt bars are not the greatest for breakfast -- maybe as a mid morning or afternoon snack -- they are cold and a lot have preservatives --but they are solid and better than nothing. I would go with a healthy muffin -- one without preservatives -- maybe ones you made yourself warmed in the microwave -- maybe 30 seconds -- over these. Although now we are talking about the argument of the dangers of using a microwave to often.
Sandwiches can also make a quick breakfast - toasted bacon, lettuce and tomato, ham and cheese. Or hardboiled eggs chopped up the night before mixed with low cal mayonnaise, -make toast and spread quickly on to make a warm sandwich, or salmon or tuna sandwich done the same way followed by an apple. Placed in plastic container can be eaten on the go and if someone else is driving. Even a cheese whis sandwich is okay. Its always best to get up early enough and allow your self a half hour for breakfast.
