I have an 85 cougar that runs and would like to get rid of it and make a little money. How much does one typically get when scrapping a car?

well junkyard will pay good money for the car if its in demand but i don think there will be high demand for an 85 cougar and since its running it may be good to sell in your local paper to some high school kid or college student

I could tell you, depending on location, and a few other things, we would roughly offer you $200 for a vehicle like that. But like I said depends on other things. Does it have all the parts? Tires? Etc... Feel free to request a free quote from a place online like ours that offers them.

I rolled my 79 Buick Regal off a cliff and had to spend $300 to get two tow trucks pull it out of the canyon. I would have left it there but the city wouldn't let me. it was totalled. I called a junk yard to come pick it up and got $150 for it... Oh and it didn't hurt that much.
