on my sony vaio laptop there is an s video output?

when i connect an s video lead between the laptop and my tv there is no picture on the tv.where am i going wrong.

the othger guy is right, you have to press something like f4 or f5, maybe with a shift or control key.

Read the Vaio manual, you have to hit a Function key to send the video to your TV.
