Coming back?
He never went!
A good question, though.
Hmm - another 3000-plus years into the future.
My best guess is that the belief in imaginary gods will have waned dramatically, with the muslims being a good way behind the rest of civilisation. Thus, it follows that all this nonsense will have been forgotten about except for the history books, where Thor, Ra, Odin, Zeus, Allah, etc will all be clumped together as oddities of the human psyche.
That said, a huge asteroid may well have wiped us all out by then, maybe as early as the middle of next week. Yellowstone Park will explode in a BIG way soon, perhaps in time for christmas. Life on this planet is tenuous at best. Chaos reigns and we just have to cope with the reality of it all.
God is imaginary and praying will not help to avert the end of life as we know it.
Just give me about 30 years more and then burn me. Scatter my ashes on the moon - just for fun.

Jesus has been correct in all of his prophesies,Luke 21:24. Year 70AD,The Jewish fell by the swords of the Romans. Year 1940 they came back to Israel, year 1967 back to Jerusalem. I can quote hundreds or more prophesies in which he was right, Why should he be wrong in this one? The rest of the answer to the other part of your question, about us Christians, If he doesn't come for centuries,? God already answer it for you, and us Christians,
before you asked. The reason is: that he loves you so much,That he is giving people who think like you a chance to change your ways. You can get it from the horse's mouth (no offense to my Savior) in 2ND Peter 3:3 and on. Shalom, Peace to you.

Jesus Himself repeatedly taught that He would return to earth someday to establish His rule over all creation. He told His disciples, "At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory" (Mark 13:26).
This is why the various Christian churches have always believed this (even if—like your church—they haven't always emphasized it). The first Christians stressed it; the Apostle Paul called it "the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13). Every major church doctrinal statement or confession of faith since then has included this truth.
Why is Christ's second coming important? First, it gives us hope—hope that someday all the evil and injustice of this world will be destroyed. The Bible says, "But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness" (2 Peter 3:13).
The second coming of Christ, however, is important for another reason: It warns us that someday this world as we know it will suddenly come to an end, and it will be too late to repent and turn to God. Are you ready for that day when you will stand before God—either because of death or because of Christ's return? You can be, by turning to Christ in repentance and faith and committing your life to Him today.

It is not for man to know the hour or the day of the Son of Man's return, we are only promised, over and over again, that He will return. I believe it will be relatively soon. The saints who have gone before all believed the same thing, and we have not seen it yet, so... My responsibility as a Christian is not to try figure out if and/or when, but to live every day of my life as if He's coming back TODAY. Even so, come Lord Jesus!

What is breathtaking is the fact that you picked a time only about 3,500 years in the future. It is typical of the arrogance of Christians that they regard that as a long time. Dinosaurs ruled the earth for around 60 million years or so, 3,500 years is not even the blink of an eye in the history of the earth.

If Jesus still hasn't returned by the year 5600 AD, Christians will still wait....i know i would wait a million years.
But believe me, He will come. Even if it is only in the year 5600. Patience. Anyhow, Jesus comes for every person when they die. So ye, well all be dead by then, i hope, and the whole "does Jesus exist and will he come back" thing will kinda be cleard up for all of us, personally.

i think Jesus is going to come back..
He had promise us anyway...
a son of God could never lie, and we should believe on what He said.
many Christians all over the world have change their religion. but we can't blame them right? people have thought and people have choices. but we often made the wrong choice.they just want to find answer fr their question. that it what we had been doing all the time

In the New Testament, Jesus says that he will return within the lifetime of those who were living then. I'm guessing he's not coming back.
