To actually read it, yes. You can listen to the Bible on tape if you're illiterate though.

As others have already said, to be able to read the Bible then you need a certain degree of literacy.

I presume you're asking this for somebody else, as your question is quite literate.

There are some excellent readings of the Bible available on cd and cassette. It is also lovely hearing somebody read to you directly from the Bible.

NO!

My pastor said that it is a SIN to read anything other than the Bible. If you can't read, then YOU need to take your Bible and place it under your pillow at night when you sleep, so that God can use your faith to transfer the gospel to your heart.

If you believe and your faith is strong, God Himself will show you the WORD of GOD.

Ask the Holy Spirit to supernaturally teach you how to read using the Bible. If your faith is too weak for that, get a born again Christian (ONLY) to teach you how to read using ONLY the BIBLE > and make sure that it is the 1611 King James Bible. All other versions are SATANIC and wrong!

AMEN and Praise be unto the Holy Name of Jesus!

To read the bible yes, to understaqnd its message no. If you can't read - get it on tape, or go visit a church and they can tell you all the wonders of their religion. But then you wouldn't be able to read this suggestion.

It helps.

Also having a basic understanding of the historical and cultural contexts the various books have come from, and a mindset that reads texts in a critical way.

One must be illiterate to read the Bible, otherwise they would put it down immediately.

Get someone to explain it to you that has the UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE that is REQUIRED for you to understand it. They MUST know what God's Word says and means though BEFORE they can help you.
