i did my 1st pap test in dec 2006 & it came abnormal & doctor found hpv virus then after i did repeat pap in last week & it came normal this time.i never had se with anyone than my husband & my hubby too.i did some kissing & touching with 3/4 people but never had intercourse.then how i got hpv?why this time my test came normal this time?
me & my husband have done sex only 4/5 times in last 3 months.is it the reason for my pap test coming normal?i am noticing one mark around my lips which is king very small but dry.i also noticed my lips getting very dry in last few days.little reddish also.what is it now? pls help

I've been in your position before. Don't worry too much.
I've had cases where my paps were abnormal a few times in a row, then all of a sudden they're back to normal. HPV is a weird virus, but the good thing is, if you have it, you don't show signs of any sickness. One thing you need to understand about HPV is that yes, it's an STD, but also, certain strains of it can cause cancer. That is what I have/ had.
You didn't say if you had to go through getting a biopsy done. I have, it's not fun. Neither is getting the cryotherapy which freezes your cells. I suggest reading up on it, or having your doctor sit down and explain exactly what HPV is. It will help you better understand it, as well as put you at ease.
And the amount of sex you have probably doesn't play a role with your pap tests unless you have sex prior to getting your pap done. Reason being, having sex changes your cells. It's ok to have sex with your husband again..and again...and again.
As far as your lips go, they could simply just be dry. Try using Carmex or Neosporin Lip Treatment on them, plus drinking lots of water to keep hydrated. My lips occasionally get red, dry, and cracked for no reason. It's painful too, but usually goes away after a few days.

Hmmm....r u sure your husband has been faithful? most the time when a test comes back negative then positive they will do a 3rd to confirm...one way or the other...The only way to contract it is sexually.... They have tried to test to see if it can be transmitted by toilet seats and touching and so far have only seen it transmitted sexually. I just read about it on yahoo...
