I like this guy, and he is very nice. Not much of a looker, but super nice and funny, but some of my friends think he is butt ugly and therefore not worth my time. Anyways, after recent drama he found out that I liked him, and his friends have made it clear that he doesn't like me in the same way.
After all this drama, I still want to be his friend but am afraid he'll think I'm weird. What should I do? Should I try to be friends? Should I still like him in that way? Is he worth my effort?

Also, I thought I should add that isn't me not wanting to be friends really. He hasn't talked to me much since the whole drama, and I'm kind of stuck in this awkward postition. Should I act like nothing happened? Talk to him about it? Or does he not want our friendship to continue?

Will he be mad if I act like nothing happened? Like will he think I'm just some girl who goes from liking one guy to the next in a matter of minutes if I try talking to him again? All of your answers are great, it's just that there is so many questions and I honestly don't know what to do.

Also, now after some like real talking I am really sure he doesn't like me. Is it mature to still like him even if he may never like him? How do I get over him? I just can't you know . . .

I meant:

[..] even if doesn't like me?

(Instead of 'like him')

Thanks for the answers, but here's another 'but.'

But what if he never speaks to me again? Like he never wants to talk ever again? Sure, screw him, but I really like him.

And I tried forgetting or getting over but it is so hard. How do I move on? Will I move on?

I have to agree with Harold T, why not go and talk to him on your own. If you feel this pressured to constantly think of your friends, and no one else, then you should definitely talk to him alone.

Eventually, it'll all simmer out. If he likes you, he likes you. If he doesn't, he doesn't. No guy ( sorry guys ) is worth your tears of pain.

I'll tell you one thing, if this guy does not like you because of the way you are, he's so not the person to be with. There is nothing wrong with being friends with anyone even if your friends say he is "butt ugly." Your friends shouldn't even be talking to you like that. they should except anyone that may be your boyfriend.

You say that this guy's friends told you that he doesnt like you they same way you do. well, how actually do you know that that is true? what if this guy does have something for you, but he just wasn't the one to come up to you and say it? so dont think that this will be just a waste of your time. try it. try get to be his friend. there is nothing wrong with that. and dont worry what the others say. someday, you may like that you did this.

and after all, i believe everything happens for a reason. you never know what the outcome may be, as long as you try and use the effort to be his friend. it wont be wasting the effort, it'll make you better and more understanding on how to be a guys friend. I really hope my advise works. i dont exactly know how to say it in a better way. but i really do hope that things will work out for you and the guy.

That is so sad that your "friends" would say that about someone you care about. Perhaps the young man is so used to people dumping on him because they think he is not good looking, that he refuses to set himself up for rejection later when some one better comes along? I would stay his friend and see if he can trust you to go to another level. But be careful, it is not fair to lead him on, either keep it on a friendship level, or forget what your friends think if he is a good guy. My experiences with "good looking" men is usually they are more in love with themselves and don't have room for someone else. The best deal is someone who is handsome in the inside. Besides, most good looking men lose their looks as they get older, and the others get better looking. So it is a win win situation to watch a man get better looking.

still be his friend. just act cool. like nothing happened. friendship sometimes can grow into a relationship (although sometimes it doesn't.) He sounds like a nice guy adn worth keeping as a friend. especially since there are a lot of mean ppl around. as for likeing him, i would just worry about being friends for now. maybe someday something will happen between you two

I'm going to have to agree with these people..

Talk to him, if it doesn't work out move on, but decide to move on, AFTER you talk to him. But that doesn't mean you can't be friends, of course it's awkward now, but in a month's time, I bet you two would be able to be friends.
In a month or two you will hardly even remember this, that's how it works out at this time.

you cant just stop being friends with him just because you found out he doesnt like you the way you like him. im pretty sure u value his friendship b/c you want to remain friends. you just have to get past the fact that he doesnt like you that way and move on. there are other guys.

Talk to him , alone , away from both of your friends . Be honest and open . If he is worth hanging on to you'll be able to tell, if not move on. Don't judge people by their looks , but you know that.

looks are not everything. But if he is not interested you can't make him be. But on the other hand he might consider himself out of your league be friends with him and take your time he might change his mind.

You deserve a straight answer from him, without the input of your friends or his. If he is still playing games with you, drop him like a hot potato.
