YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON!!! I can't believe these people on here saying that because you can't get your cats shots!! It is best if they have the shots, especially if they are going outdoors. I have 3, all females, only one is spayed but they are indoor cats, and Im working on getting the others taken care of as I can. As long as you're providing them a loving home, its better than the alternative...eating out of garbage cans, or euthanized. Its not like your kitties are sitting there saying "Wow, I wish mom could afford to give us our shot" they're not, they're saying"Oh thank you mommy for being our person!" Thats the beautiful difference between animals and people, animals don't pass judgement!
I found these guys on MySpace http://www.luvmypet.com, or on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/luvmypet they offer reduced clinics, but again it depends on your area, work a try anyway! Best of luck!! Again, YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON!!

You seem to have a good heart because you are opening your home to so many animals, but as someone has said before me, they are like having children. You should be able to provide everything they need and then more. Also you should not have so many, because you can not give them all the love and attention they need. Maybe you can take them to the vet and then work out a payment plan. Cats only really need to go to the vet once a year. It should not be difficult to scrape together a couple hundred bucks once a year. If you don't the alternative is the cats getting sick and dying. You should think about giving the cats away that you can not provide for. I know it sounds harsh, but don't they deserve to be well taking care of not just to sustain living?

If they are total housecats and never go outside and were born in your home and show no signs of illness I think it will be ok. I know not everyone can afford all those shots. I've had 2 cats before who never had shots and they both lived happily to be quite old and died of what seemed like strokes.
You ARE NOT a bad person at all!! Don't listen to those people that have answered you so uncaringly. They must be Cat Nazis!! lol

If you can't afford to take care of all of them, the best thng for you do do for them is to get new homes for at least some of them. The people you give them away to can even be your friends so you can go see the cats sometimes but above all, make sure the person will be comitted to giving their cat a healthy, happy life and knows how to do that. If you want your cats to be happy and healthy, you will make sure that they are being given the best care possible. You don't have to give all of them up, but especially since ou will be having new kittens soon, it would be a good idea to find at least a few new, good homes.

erm, in a way, yes i do. if you can't afford to keep a pet then you shouldnt get one in the first place (never mind 7). How would you feel if you broke your leg and there was no free healthcare and the person responsible for you said "oh sorry i couldn't be arsed figuring out wether or not i could afford something like this when i took responsibility for you, you'll just have to suffer excruciating pain, but never mind, at least I'M ok!". I hope you're planning to give the kittens to someone responsible that can actually take care of them, although if all your cats were fixed you wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

You're not bad if you can't give them shots. Think about all those animals in the wild - they don't get shots yet they manage just fine. Ever heard of a forest full of deal animals because they didn't get their shots? Don't let these freaks guilt you into something you can't do or afford. The best thing anyone has to offer is love, like you do. You have my support.

I don't think so. I have 20 cats that are strictly indoors, and they're as spoiled as can be! I get them tested for diseases before bringing a stray in, but I don't get them vaccinated after. And I've made the mistake of letting one get pregnant before b/c I believed she was too young to. Nobody can judge how you take care of your cats as long as you honestly try your best for their well being. I would suggest spaying though after she's weaned her babies. I can't afford to get a few of my kitten girls spayed right now, so I keep them seperated from the boys until I can. If your cats go outside though, I suggest at least getting feline leukimia vaccine and rabies. These are diseases with no cure and highly contagious! If strictly indoors, I believe its your choice. Also, if you're lucky enough to have a humane society in your county they almost always can offer low-income services to help. Unfortunetly, I don't have this option where I live b/c there is no humane society. Keep loving those purr-boxes!

Call your local SPCA and find out when and where you can get discounted vaccinations, they may give you tips. Not trying to be mean but yes you are being a very irresponsible pet owner, just like babies, if you can't afford to take care of them then you have no business having them! Cats can get Feline Herpes, where they can loose their eyes, Cancer, Worms that can kill by taking their nutrients etc. If you can not afford them all to be healthy then you need to take the ones you can't take care of to a center to be adopted, make sure it is a no kill Sanctuary, I think the SPCA has a no kill policy!!!! By the way 7 cats and more on the way is waaaaay too many for one home, please get help with them.

I don't think your a bad person, but you have taken on more than you can handle. You really should not own more animals than you can afford to care for. Have you tried low cost clinics? Look around, you might be able to find something you can afford.
I have five cats and I know vet bills are killer. I actually went back to school to become a certified vet tech, not to work in a vets office, but to take better care of my babies. I can now do my own vaccinations, saves me upwards of $500 a year on that alone. I know my method was extreme, but there are ways.

I would give the kittens away. Yeah- I know it's hard, but if you can't afford shots, how can you afford 13 (including the new kittens) cats? Put an ad in the PennySaver. I hear it's pretty cheap. No, you're not a bad person, but just a little irresponsible. Good luck!
