I took several lines of these drugs (sniffed) last night. I felt fine for the first half hour, but not until an hour later, when my heart began to beat very fast, my left arm numbed, and my chest hardened. I went to the Dr. right away and was honest. They said to not do it again. They said my heart beat was fine and that my blood pressure was okay as well. But up until now, it still beats quite fast. When will the fast heart beat go away? I sure don't want to get a cardiac arrest. Anyone who's ever gone through this or something similar? How longer will I have to wait to come down? I know what I did was dumb. It's been almost 10 hrs now and my heart still feels abnormal. What do I take or do? Beta blockers? Water? What does milk really do? I just want my heart beat to slow down.

Both cocaine and methamphetamines are central nervous system stimulants. They both have the ability to cause increased heart rate. Methamphetamine in particular can last for several hours, up to 24 hours. Cocaine however is a very short lived substance and its effects usually wear off within an hour.
Beta blockers won't help. Benzodiazepenes like valium (diazepam) can help but I'd recommend that you stay away from all drugs for now and come down naturally as it will go away. Don't panic, and don't have coffee, it is another CNS stimulant and will make it worse. Drink some water to keep yourself hydrated. Take some deep breaths, relax, and let yourself know that everything is going to be ok. You will be fine.

its to long ago for the drugs to be causing this now. so i am guessing ur being paniced about it is whats causing ur heart to still beat fast. dont go using more stuff by taking beta blockers and milk doesnt do ****. get a meal, salty like chicken soup. have a relaxing hot shower, and watch a funny movie. anything to make u not think of it for a while.

I hope that you presented to the Emergency department- coke and meth are stimulants that cause increased heart rate, as well as many other symptoms- but more importantly it causes vasoconstriction. These side effects put more demand on the heart muscle. Please get yourself an EKG. It is probably too late to indicate by blood whether you've had cardiac damage as the enzymes elevate within the first 24 hours. We've admitted several young people in the ER with your same complaint that had + heart attacks. Please get looked at!!

Say this to yourself " I put a drug in my system. It made me feel terrible, and I did the right thing and saw the MD. He said I was OK. I am still feeling some effects from the meth, but when it clears, I will be fine".

You need to relax and drink plenty of fluids, make sure you're eating as well. it's just not out of your system yet. If you still feel this way after tommorow go back to the ER.

It would be a good idea to contact a treatment clinic and ask them how long do these items stay in your system and what you should do in your case.

You should be thankful, you didn't have a stroke and die !
