I have heard several people say that Joseph was full of pride and he was actually being punished. Do you agree or disagree?
Back up your opinion please.

Hey guys, Joseph as in the coat of many colors. Read the whole question then read Genesis 37-42.

I feel differently about this than other people do, because I believe that God's greater plan was at work, to make Joseph steward in Pharoah's House; and that while we are not supposed to brag about an epiphany of some type, Joseph was a young boy.

There is a lot to learn from the entire story. The wonderful way that Joseph forgives his whole family, and brings them into Egypt so that they can be fed.

When a person is happy and wondering about an honor, they are not necessarily proud. Pride is building yourself up on your own merits and believing that you truly are greater than other people, when nothing could be farther from the truth. I believe the envy of the brothers and their malicious actions to sell Joseph into slavery is the repugnant part of the story.

But it is a lesson of love and of mercy which God is teaching to all people. This is the love of Christ witnessing to all.

Joseph was proud to be a worshiper of the Most High God and humble because he endured so much without ever blaming God for his troubles.
He sets a fine example for us today when we are suffering at because of someone else actions.

Humble above anything else. He married a wife that was pregnant and completely humbled himself to the Lord in accepting that it was from divine conception and not an earthly man's child, but the son of God- Jesus.

Humble...
If you read everything he wrote, he never praises himself. He died for what he knew.

Don't you think someone who compiled a book that so many read, love and cherish today would have praised himself a little more.

His life is full of love and service towards everyone who would accept it.
