It will NOT cure your HPV and it will NOT stop the warts from coming back or spreading them to other person.

The new HPV vaccine called Gardasil protects a woman from 4 different kinds of HPV. Two of those kinds cause about 70% of cervical cancer cases and the other two kinds cause about 90% of genital warts cases.

If you already have HPV it will not get rid of your HPV. It can however stop you from contracting a kind of HPV you don't already have. Most doctors (including mine) recommend ALL women get the vaccine - whether they have HPV or not. Most women don't have all 4 of the kinds of HPV the vaccine protects against. So, if a woman only has one kind of HPV the vaccine protects against, and she gets the vaccine, theoretically she should be protected from contracting the other three kinds she doesn't already have.

First & foremost the vaccine is for women. Second, if you already have HPV the vaccine will have no effect.
