What a glorious day it's been! The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the daffodils have emerged from their winter hibernation. To top it all, I managed to get out this afternoon for a round of golf. Fresh air, exercise, good company and spectucular scenery (shame about the golf, though). No wonder I'm cheerful today. How about you? Anything good happen you'd like to share with all of us? Let's spread a little sunshine ourselves.

sweetstuff - it may be too late to offer a shoulder to cry on, but I do hope you met your deadline.
section hand - ONLY 3 miles to the summit? Wow! Good for you! I'm surrounded by some fairly serious mountains, and get up and down them when the weather is good, but they pale into insignificance when compared to Mount Scott. But it's always worth the effort when you get to the top, especially on a clear day. Isn't it just wonderful to have your feet planted on terra-firma whilst surveying all below? Praise God for his wonderful creation (and our health to enable us to enjoy it).
Everyone else - thanks for making me even more cheerful on this, another glorious spring day. My prayers for comfort to those of you who are experiencing difficulties or pain.

I was so intrigued by section hand's account of his stroll up Mount Scott I just had to check it out on the map. At 8,926 feet that equates to just over 2,740 metres. I know the USA doesn't use metric measurements, but to put it into perspective, the highest mountain in England (UK) is Skiddaw, at just over 3,000 feet or 931 metres. Everest is 8,848 metres (29,028 feet), McKinley is 6,194 metres (20,320 feet) and Logan is 5,951 metres (19,524 feet). Mount Scott is a serious mountain, folks! Respect!
