I don't think it would change the taste of the coffee, but paper cups are definately better for the environment. I have also heard that hot liquids can cause chemicals to come out of the styrofoam and into the coffee you drink. I don't have any hard facts on that but I am sure you could find out at google or something. Hope this helps...

Personally I am a tea and hot chocolate gal!

However, styro foam even when drinking water out of it ...I don't like the feel of it. Besides styro foam is worse for the environment and it dosn't degrade productively. Paper, feels better to the touch, and bio degrades well, unbleached make good clean compost material.

I know, I know clear cutting. Well that industry has to address its practices. Paper can potential be made of other organic products anyway. Styro foam is a petrolium based product!!!!!
Yuck! The cost can only go up!

Peace!

I think paper tastes better anyway...

I've seen both reactions in paper and foam.
What I found was uncoated paper cups, not designed for hot liquids were the worst. And cheap off brand styrofoam cups also gave an impending flavor.
So for quality jo, serve in quality cups.

There's no taste difference.

Make sure the paper cups are "hot cups;" regular paper cups have a wax coating that will melt with hot liquids.

Paper is much better for the environment.

No, I dont believe it matters what kind of cups you use! Let me tell you somthing though...I heard on the news that Styraphome (foam) contaners can give you cancer, and they never disinagrate! That was a shock to me. I dont even know if its true-how can somthing never disinagrate?!?!
