It wouldn't hurt- you may have EIA- exercise induced asthma. The symptoms usually last for the duration of your cool down period after exercise, but may last longer. Your doctor can prescribe a fast acting inhaler if this turns out to be your problem. Being able to breathe freely while exercising will improve your performance and endurance.

Asthma - dyspneic attacks with audible wheezing, dry cough, accessory muscle use, nasal flaring, intercostal and supraclavicular retractions, tachypnea, tachycardia, diaphoresis, prolonged expiration, flush or cyanosis, and apprehension. It could be other things such as: acute respiratory distress syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, anemia, cor pulmonale, emphysema, flail chest, guillain-barre syndrome, inhalation injury, lung cancer, myasthenia gravis, myocardial infarction, pleural effusion, pneumonia...and many other things you should see a doctor.
Try to avoid chemical irritants, pollutants, and people with respiratory infections.

thats normal after you excersise. Your body will get used to it and before you know it the point you used to be gasping for air wont hurt as much you just need to build endurance.
but if you truly feel something is wrong then by all means get it checked out. better safe then sorry
