Many people have gotten shot in the head and survived. We still have many veterans who can vouch for that. Some wear steel plates, but they are still alive.

Yes, depends on what caliber bullet is used and where the bullet entered and exited and how much damage it did once it got into the brain.
I have worked in a number of trauma centres as a trauma nurse and we have had guys shoot themselves with a 22 handgun they have come in, been treated and released in a couple of days. Then I also have seen many die because of being shot in the head.

Not at all uncommon.
I am never ceased to be amazed by just how much trauma the scalp/skull/brain can sustain and not incure death or a large amount of loss of function.
There are several documented cases of metallic rods, arrows,
and nails (nail guns) penetrating the skull without causing death or impairment.
However, this is the exception: If not fatal, these wounds usually result in significant loss of function and/or consciousness (coma).
The was a case ( early 20Th century) of a miner that was"tamping "dynamite, when it exploded and drove the tamping rod (feet long) directly through his face and skull. He toured "side shows for many years (it was never removed), lived for many years, and left his remains to a medical school.
Just goes to show us what what a wonder our bodies are.
It has been estimated that just the elasticity and flexibility of our scalp, multiplies it's resistance to penetration, by a factor of X 200.
All the more reason to take care of such a wondrous gift.

Yes. I know of one such man, my ex boss. He survived a 315 bore shot in his brains & still survived. It was at point blank range, one in head, two in abdomen & he still survived & lives normally. Only thing that changed in his life was occasional spurts of amnesia, he used to forget what he was doing/talking to whom. But still millions of times better than being dead.
No one can kill you if you are protected by God.

Yes it's possible but the part of the brain that was shot will no longer work so if it hits the part that deals with speech or motor skills then you lose those.

Yes...many have. It depends on alot of different factors. And you may survive but not be 'yourself' anymore. You would be at higher risk of seizures and it could change your personality and intellectual capabilities.
