So many of the so called Mexican restaurants feature items on the menu that have absolutely nothing to do with real Mexican food. Unfortunately they have to cater to American tastes, after all that is where they are. I never ever eat Mexican food at a USA restaurant because there is always something missing, the ingredients are not the right ones, there is too much sugar in the salsas, the items on the menu are typical Tex Mex Southwestern stuff which are a far cry from the real thing.

Because they can cook their own mexican or chinese or indian food and more delicious than in a restaurant. So when they go to a restaurant they want to try a different taste.
When I visit your country I want to go to many different kinds of restaurants, but not to a mexican one, why should I want to If I have this food everywhere at home. Besides most mexican restaurants in US are disapointing. Tacos just don´t taste like real delicious tacos.

If you go to an authentic Mexican or Chinese restaurant you will see them. It's also how I know if the restaurant is any good because if you grew up with the real food and are willing to eat it at that restaurant it must be good.

If the people aren't eating there, it's not authentic. The best way to find authentic food in a restaurant is to see if the locals eat there. At our favorite Mexican place there are only Hispanic/Latinos. That's the sign of real and good food. It's also a popular travel tip to find the real restaurants.

Because Mexican and Chinese restaurants don't really serve authentic Mexican and Chinese food, but Indian resaurants DO serve authentic Indian food.

Well, I think it depends on the Mexican restaurant. Some Mexican restuarants cater to Mexicans and some cater more to Americans. My Mother, for example is Mexican, and is really picky when it comes to Mexican food.....she wants authentic Mexican food and not Americanized Mexican food. My parents prefer eating Mexican food at home, and eating Chinese/American/Italian, etc. foods at the restuarant.

If you are defining a Mexican restaurant as Acapulco's or El Toritos, and a Chinese restaurant as those cheap, $6 take out places, they are an insult to the ethnicities they are supposed to represent.
You don't find too many mainstream Indian restaurants, so the ones you do see are usually authentic.

Mexican food and Chinese food served in America isn't what you would call authentic, it's very "americanized" where Indian food is mostly prepared authentic style in comparison.

most Mexicans don't eat out in Mexican restraunts because in today's time allot of restraunts change the way a dish is made, rather than making it the way it the way Mexicans made the dish for so many years restraunts change the ingredients of the dish and add different things to the dish to make it better but in all they
make it worse
