I know this question may seem silly, but I have never served one before and would really like to make a good impression.

Traditionally on a small plate with a doily, and crackers decorated around it and a small knife for cutting. You could also place a side plate with more crackers(different kinds) and maybe some of the dark breads(the small rond ones, sliced thinly) and some crisp, sliced red delicious apples and grapes. If you cheese ball is cheddar, it will be tart and the fruit will offset the flavor nicely and make a nice alternative to crackers and bread(mini rond pumpernickel, nut bread with raisins). Accompaniments are olives, salami, miniature mozzarella(marinated with olive oil and fresh torn basil leaves), yummmm!

I actually serve my cheese ball on a cutting board with several other cheeses. I have a variety of crackers in a bowl nearby as well as baguette's ready to slice. In the event that I'm only serving a cheese ball, then I get my most unique plate, put it on it, and then place lemon leaves around it with a few flowers. I always put the crackers on the side.

Well - I usually serve my on either a platter surrounded by crackers - or on a cheese board with crackers on the side.

But - the important thing is serve it with a spreader (blunt rounded knife) and cut into the cheese ball (kind of a little divet on the side) so that people can see what kind of cheese ball it is - and will also be encouraged to use the spreader -rather than just taking their crackers, fingers, knives or forks to the cheeseball.

Get a nice cheese try and put the ball of cheese (port wine cheese ball is GREAT!) in the center of the tray and put crackers with it and you can dress it up some for color but that is the idea. Make sure you have a nice cheese knife! Good luck!

I usually put my cheeseball on a board with a couple of pate knives and crackers and additional crackers on a plate nearby.

Just serve it with a variety of crackers. You could also use stiff veggies like carrots or celery.

Place it on a plate with a bed of lettuce, and tons of crackers around it, and a butter knife for spreading. It's mostly about presentation.
