Ok so I have a question. Say I'm on the pill and I want to have sex with my boyfriend. We are both virgins and are perfectly healthy. If we don't use a condom, can we still pass on STI's/ STD's even though we have never had any other partners and are perfectly fine? Thanks.

No, you cannot--if you are CERTAIN you are both disease-free. STDs don't magically appear out of thin air--one partner has to be infected to spread them.

If one of your parents has had a sexually transmittable disease, there is a possibility that it could be transferred. Even herpes, which no-one likes to admit to having, is a very common disease, and can remain dormant for many years, and the sufferer may not even know they have it. So use a condom, and some lubricant, and you'll be safe. That feeling of safety will make the experience better.

YES YOU CAN!!!

STI's can be transmitted via various routes and are not solely transmitted via sexual intercourse.

TRICHOMONAS : Trichomonas is USUALLY spread by contact with vaginal or urethral (from the penis) fluids during sexual intercourse but there is some evidence that this infection can be passed to people by non-sexual contact, such as from toilets seats, towels, or wooden benches in saunas.

PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) : Pelvic inflammatory disease is most likely to occur between the ages of 15 and 25, in sexually active women. In many cases the cause is a germ (microbe) which is transmitted sexually. Sometimes, however it comes as a result of spread of an infection, in the blood stream, from other parts of the body.

HIV: (Human immunodeficiency virus)

HIV is found in varying concentrations or amounts in blood, semen, vaginal fluid, breast milk, saliva, and tears.

Exposure to dental tools that were not sanitized properly
Oral sex
Blood exposure
Injection drug use
Needlestick injury
Mother-infant transmission

Studies have also found that oral sex can transmit hepatitis B virus, herpes, genital warts, syphilis and gonorrhea. Other acts, such as petting, could possibly transmit some of these infections as well.

USE A CONDOM.

If your boyfriend is not lying then probobly not. However, intercorse is not the only way one can get a STD. Oral sex, or even kissing potentially if that person has oral STD can transmit STD. If you are really worried go to the doctor and why don't the two of you get checked out. It is free at Planned Parenthood and numerious other clinics.

People diss condoms but they have advantages like easy cleanup! They do have a failure rate but the pill's failure rate is higher so double up on the protection. You'll feel better about it.
