I know having trichomonas is sexually transmitted, but how does it develop, how do you contract it first, can you get it if you and your partner have ONLY been with each other, or can you get it from not so clean things, like having sex on the bare floor or rug...what?, how many doses does it take to be cured from it (for a man and a women)

Trich is not just an STD. It is actually a tiny parasite that crawls inside the urethra. You can get it not only from sexual contact with an infected person but from hot tubs, swimming pools, lakes, rivers, from using a wash cloth or towel that hasn't been washed and has been in contact with the genital area of an infected person, and yes, even toilet seats that have been used by an infected person. It is treated by a simple round of medication. I hope this helped you...good luck!

Trich is and STD only. In other words you can not get it from having sex on dirty things, sitting on toilets, etc, you contract through sexual contact. Although men or women can be carriers without any symptoms. It is easily treated with either vaginal suppositories or pills depending on your situation and takes less than a week. Both the man and the women must be treated to prevent recurrence and they must not have sexual contact until after treatment and retesting.
