Ideas as to what to serve? Have a pot luck where everyone brings a side dish or dessert. You can cook the meat. Depending on where you live you could meet at a lake shelter or park & have a picnic/cookout with family & friends. You provide the meat & basics(paper plates, silverware, napkins, condiments, ice, & bread) they all bring a side dish or dessert & there own drinks.

What we do in my fam. is go to someones home and have a big dinner. Serve some drinks, and then have a christening cake (like any other cake just decorated for a christening) no we don’t blow any candles…lol.
That’s pretty much it. Mostly just good food, family, and conversation.

In my family, there's always a huge dinner at the home or in a restaurant. It could also be in the hall at the church.
