Did she go to a well knwon cardiology center. If not she should research in her area and go to the best one. It may be that she should have more than one stent.

I am 33 years old (so 30-40 year old age group). 1) Physically, I think most but not all people start getting "old" after 45-50 years of age. But a person who is 80-90 years old can seem a lot younger and have more energy if they are happier than a 40 year old. I think age and "being old" is a state of mind, not heart or spirit. 2) Family is always the most important, being employed and having my own money in case self-support would ever be necessary, and love. 3) I've had 2 nieces die in the last 2 months and a great uncle about 2 years ago, but nobody else close to me. However, I did lose a couple of classmates as well. 4) I worry about something bad happening to someone I love all the time, and I worry about losing or being laid off of my job. I also worry about a terroristic WAR coming to American soil during my lifetime. 5) My advice to someone younger than me would be not to be afraid of life and making mistakes. I waited too long to experience many things and missed out on a lot of things because I was too chicken. You have to make mistakes in order to learn from them. Live life to the fullest.

That is somewhat significant blockage. Sometimes this can be treated medically. (Taking medication to dissolve the plaque) Other times Doctors will do a carotid. As with any surgery there are risks associated. With your mother having peripheral vascular disease and no arteries to use for bypass, could mean trouble. At this point medication, diet and stop smoking ( if she is a smoker) would be her best bet.
Good Luck. Oh...most important... PRAY!

Things don't sound good for your mom. Aggressive, extensive vascular disease.

Even if she is "high risk", an experienced vascular surgeon may be able to do a carotid endarterectomy. We've done them on some very sick people.

As for her legs, that's a tougher story. As someone suggested, another opinion from a surgeon at a large, tertiary hospital may help. It certainly can't hurt.

Best of luck

Buy her something that you can find at Walmart or other retail stores in the health section. It is called Fish Oil, which has Omega-3. These are usually in pill form. This helps promote heart health and circulation throughout the body! Good luck to her!

My mother-in-law has something similiar to that and she was in the hospital for 5 days. The doctors did not think she would make, but thank God she did. I told her about a drink called MONA VIE and she began drinking it and when she when to the doctors, they were shocked. My mother-in-Law didnt have to all these pills given to her. If I were you I would try it and watch and see the results. The drink is called MONA VIE and it works. Email me if you have any questions.

Hi,
Have you ever heard of Himalayan Goji Juice? Goji contains cyperone, a sesquiterpene that benefits the heart and blood pressure. Its anthocyanins help to maintain the strength and integrity of coronary arteries.

YOU don't have to do anything. Her doctors need to talk to her about other options. But she needs to get oxygen to her lower body ASAP. I am sure there are other options. Just stay on the doctors. We can't do anything here.
