Ok so about 3 years ago I had these awful blister type things down there, I felt really unwell, and couldnt go to the toilet. I looked up the symptons in a medical book and it sounded like herpes but i was only 16 at the time and was afraid to go to the doctors (dumb, I know). I never had any symptons since and didnt think anything of it. However, the other day my boyfriend (of 11 months) started compaining that he had a small, painful sore on his penis. he says it has now turned red and it burns when he pees. He's also really tired. He has no idea what's wrong with him and now he's saying he's going to go to the doctors. But I'm the only person he has slept with and if he does have herpes he will know that he caught them off me. I've never been unfaithful to him but he might jump to conclusions and think that I have, and he'll also be mad at me for sleeping with him without protection, I know Iv been so stupid but I really dont want him to break up with me and dont know what to do.

it does sound like you've given him herpes. You can sometimes have it for years and not get the symptoms only to pass it on to your partner. Can i just ask, have you been using condoms?Get him and yourself to the doctors.Just explain to him you thought you had it when you were younger but did'nt realise you were still carrying it as you've had no symptoms and did'nt realise you could pass it on.Next time, use protection and you wont pass anything else on to him!

It sounds like you have. When someone is diagnosed with herpes, they can feel quite down and shocked, so its important your there for him. Tell him the truth, tell him the whole story. Its better that way. Both of you should do some research on the internet, but be aware not all the information is acurate. But as you look through you'll be able to distinguish fact and fiction.

People can have herpes, and only experience asymptomatic outbreaks (meaning the virus is present at the surface, but there are no physical symptoms.)

It can be passed on whether you are wearing a condom or not as it can be passed on by skin contact.

Good luck with it all, and remember living with herpes isn't the end of the world, and you soon become used to the idea. I know I did.

I think you should confront him about this. I know it is really hard to do this but you should. If he dumps you, he doesn't deserve you because first of all you had no idea that you had real herpes and who knows..... he could be cheating with another girl who has herpes.
