As an Italian American I can honestly say Italian food when eaten like it should be with the freshness of the ingredients and the perfect balance in all of them is one of the best things on this earth. American food is simply a bunch off imitations of food from other parts of the world I tried meatloaf once and it was terrible, right away I knew what it was a knock off of our polpette or italian-american meat balls. Trust me my friend you have real italian food you will never go back ever ever ever....EVER. Sure I enjoy other foods as well but when I think about having some gnocchi with pesto and smoked slasiccia....with some pecorino Sardo to top it off...........mmm. and Southern Italian is the best...Honestly the quality in food is probably a big reason why Italians still gather round the table and eat like a family I mean when your mamma and nonna are making pane frattau or farsumagro or pasta arrabiata or patate all rosmarino or just a homade pizza you dont want to miss it!!! What does the american culinary tradition do to uphold family meal time?? a box of chicken and gravy??? Ill pass...grazie!

Italian! The food in italy is amazing. It's not just pasta and sauces. They do tons of regional and seasonal food that is to die for. It usually is also very light, not at all like most american food

Depends on who is doing the cooking and what regional cuisine they are making. I'm very fond of Northern Italian dishes and both Southern and Southwestern American dishes.
