First of all, this question has nothing to do with Respiratory Diseases.

Secondly, if you have an enlarged spleen, you need to have immediate medical attention (GO TO THE DOCTOR). If your spleen ruptured, you would know it.

What causes a spleen to rupture is a fall...if you fall, especially on the location of the spleen, that would cause trauma to the spleen and it would rupture due to the increased pressure.

If you even have the slightest worry that your spleen may have ruptured, ask yourself this:

-Do you have a fever over 101 degrees (F)?
-Are you in extreme abdominal pain?
-Are you vomiting?

If you have any one of these, you need to go to the ER IMMEDIATLY!

if your spleen is already enlarged, any type of trauma to it can cause it to erupt. that is why they tell you to take it very easy. if you get hit in the stomach, lift anything heavy, anything that you are using your stomach for can really irritate it. it starts by leaking small amounts of blood on your inside at first. you may feel some type of cramps or pain. but when that spleen has had enough to erupt, you will get severe pain. it can even kill you.
