I love Burmese food!
But I had eaten at this Egyptian restaurant ages ago in NYC. It was an absolutely wonderful and almost magical experience: as soon as you walked in the place it smelled so wonderfully exotic! A delicate mixture of roses, jasmine, sandalwood, the hookah/shisha aromas, aromatic spices, the foods.... they even sprinkled perfumed rose water on you as you walked in the door.
Visually, it was like a high end movie set: a large luxurious silk tent complete with sand on the floor!
It was pretty lavish. A real dessert oasis right out of 1001 Arabian Nights, wonderful futon type of floor seating with silk & brocade embroidered throw pillows everywhere.
Egyptian music was playing in the background and belly dancers and musicians walking around. The food was fantastic and everyone was having a great time. It was a wonderful experience.

Also, went to TANTRA in Miami. That too was a fun and exotic experience. You can visit their website:

If I may say so, a restaurant is not exotic but people who go to one make it to be one as they feel so! But, I have been to a really exotic one somewhere in South Africa - Cape Town or Johannesburg - shaped like a train and so it is also called Train (Blue train to be exact) and they serve dishes made of all types of wild creatures you can name, and eating some of it could make one feel very exotic and maybe allergic too!

I have been to many different indian restaurants. Also thai. Those are not as exotic as some others out there but they were interesting and the food was great.

I ate at an Ethopian restaurant in Boston. It was cool because your food came in a big round basket that you shared with your friends and you had to use the bread to eat your food - there were no utensils. And it was good! I believe it was on Mass Ave.

you know, instead of spending money on exotic restaurants or even internet you could be giving to the poor or homeless. you could be giving your time & money to a shelter also.
