I ask how many of you eat cheeseburgers and pizza with meat on it? Then warn you because this is one thing that God is quite clear about. Check it out, look it up, and think about the mortal sin.
The Bible clearly states that we are not supposed to mix meat and dairy in the same meal. So, for you wonderful God-fearing, meat-eating preachers, how many of you truly follow the word of God. Please be honest.

This is part of the Kashrut, Laws about food cleanliness and pruity found in the Old Testament.
I ask here because so many people push God's ideal on us, I got sick of it. So I pushed back to those who push.

Really? I never knew that...i eat fish but not meat.
That is quite interesting, also because there are 'Quakers' who also follow christianity and believe that we shouldnt eat meat. Besides, the bible also says that we are God's stewards, adn that we should look after the world. The least i can do (after humans have destroyed habitats, etc-not that this can be helped really) is to not eat meat. I have been pescetarian for about 4 months, so i still have time to give up the fish!
You are so right though, we get so much grief, accused of numerous things, even that we lurk around the vegy section! I only want to help people with vegy recipes, etc!

Okay, what you're saying is true. However because it's in the Old Testament most people are gonna deny it. If one is gonna follow all the Health Laws of the Bible, then that includes the clean and unclean meats. Another is if one is gonna eat the clean meats as set by the standards of the Bible Health/Dietary Laws then one must follow the rules of kosher meats, the draining of the blood.

Since I am Christian much of my doctrinal beliefs are derived from the New Testament. Sorry I don't scripture reference...but if you want I can look them up later. The bible says that God made all of creation and it is clean. According to my interpretations from various scriptures of the NT. You can eat whatever you want (the exception would of course be cannibalism) in the manner you want. Jesus says you shouldn't live by the law but rather in the spirit (ex. do good things for other etc.) For example we do not stone adulters now even that was the law of Moses. So much of Jewish laws found in the OT can be seen as guidelines rather than following the letter of the law. I hope this clarifies it.

I choose not to eat meat because of the inhumane treatment of the animals. Which verse(s) in The Bible are you referring to? Would like to check it out.
Thanks!

Can you tell me where it says in the Bible? I was trying to explain kosher food to someone and they didn't believe me, and I am not sure where exactly it says it in the Bible! (I am a veggie by the way, as it happens!) ;-)

yes, about time some one finds the flaw in the bible, i'm so sick when people use bible as a shield, people who reads bible once told me if a person commits a sin it's satan's doing
so let me get this stright, if joe kills mary, then it's not joes fault, its satans fault, lets all pray satan away!
wtf

I'm not sure why you are directing this question to omnivores in the vegetarian section. god is irrelevant when it comes to food choices and I only see questions relating to what you are talking about once in a blue moon by freaky extremists.
