I've been on it for years, never a problem, works very well. Are you taking it daily as perscribed? Alot of people associate illness with meds, but don't take them as prescribed. It's supposed to avoid acute episodes, cause of the steroid effect. I know of people that don't take it daily, and they have problems with it. Or people that use it when they feel like it, and then say it doesn't work. That is definetly one drug that must be used as directed, or it doesn't work.

I have COPD also. Everytime that I used Advair I wound up hospitalized with bronchitis or pneumonia. My pulmonologist switched me to this steroid Pulmicort. It works wonders. Sometimes you develop allergies to certain medicines, and they make you sicker instead of better. By simply switching I'm feeling a lot better now. Good Luck. What's ironic is that I developed COPD from using an over the counter asthma inhaler.

I have alpha 1 which in turns gives me COPD also as my lungs shut down. I'm on advair and spiriva daily and they work wonders for me, if I'm without for more than 3 days I feel a huge difference but do not get Bronchitis.
