I'm currently working on my Biology project and stuck with two questions...

Contrast effects that blood levels of carbon dioxide and oxygen have on the respiratory system...

and

Describe the relationship and function of the parts that comprise the conducting portion of the respiratory system..

The topic is wide... I would suggest Guyton & Hall's Textbook of Medical Physiology; it's written extremelly well, it can help you understand the basics of the human physiology. You can probably find it on the internet to buy or you can borrow it from a med student. Regarding the contrast effects of the CO2 and O2: they usually stimulate the respiratory center. high O2 pressure in the blood diminished the respiratory frequency and the amplitude of the respiratory movements and the CO2 has opposite effects, but this is in short... try to read from the suggested book, you will find it very useful.
