I just had a stabbing/pressure like pain in my chest. In the center of my chest, running straight through into the center of my back. It lasted for 5-10 minutes. Now its gone.
Am i dying?

Well, im feeling ok now. In fact im feeling like nothing even happened. Ive had this happen before on rare occasions, but it never was this intense. Might be stress, or something i ate.
I will check with the doctor in the morning. Family Guy is on and its a great episode.

If you just had a heart-attack you wouldn't be on Yahoo Answers asking if you just had a heart-attack.

There is no way for us to tell but if I had to guess I would say that it is something to do with your lungs. I used to get what is called pleurisy which is an inflammation of the two membranes that cover your lungs and line your chest wall. This will cause a sharp localized pain in your chest. I just thought that I would also add that you can have a heart attack and still be able to function and live for all of you that posted you would be dead or not typing so may I suggest that you go and get checked out ASAP. I work on an ambulance and just transported a patient the other day who felt fine besides for a sore throat luckily his doctor decided to do a full work up on him and including an EKG and found that he had, had a heart attack. So Please don't take this lightly.

Could be a number if things i used to have chest pains to but never had a heart attack. Main thing calm down and see a doc, don't let anxiety make the pain worse and take a bayer or asprin just in case. Sometimes hunger bad health and stress can be a cause to chest pain too. There are different kinds of heart attack feelings too so it doesn't just have to be the left arm/chest pain. If your older than 40 then its more likely than if your young

You should definitely see a doctor first thing in the morning this could be a sign that you may have some blockage going on. My father who is 78 years young had the same type of pain 4 weeks age and he just had a triple bypass surgery and he is doing great. He said he is sore but he can feel the difference by having increased blood flow throughout his body. We went fishing today so the recovery time isn't that bad he said. One thing I would like to share with you that struck me funny as hell he said. I asked him if he had to go how he like for it to be. His reply was: Well if I have to go I would like to go like my brother did. In his sleep, not screaming and yelling like all the rest of the passengers in the car.......... I all most fell out of the boat from laughter. Get yourself checkout ASAP and I'm sure you will be fine. Doctors have came a long way just in the last 10 years. The Doctor may do something as simple as to change your diet.

this is for every one else. A heart attack can feel different to different people. It does not have to go to the arm or radiate to the jaw.. It could feel like pressure, sharp pains, or sometimes just anxious and sweaty. If at any time, you feel chest pain, call 911, and take an asprin. there is no age limit for when heart attacks hit, and it does not discriminate. Why would anyone want to take a chance on if it is or isn't?

Sometimes this can be an anxiety attack, if it only last a very short time. If it was pain only. If you had trouble breathing this could be heart attack. Never ignore these intense pains as they are a sign of something..... See your doctor, just the stress of thinking you had a heart attack can bring anxiety causing more problems. By the way, you are not dying, but since you don't want to die, get the answers tomorrow by seeing your doctor.

You could have, did it feel like your chest was caving in? Are you now sweating profusely? Most people pass out when they have a heart attack, but that doesnt mean you didnt have one. Go to a hospital.

You most likely had a mild heart attack. No, you are not dieing but you do need to see a doctor immediatly to make sure that the attack wasnt something more severe.

Good Luck!
