Wikipedia and Yahoo Answers are good examples of on-line talent utillization. Google has translation technology that can aid in Global response. How can we harness this powerful tool to resolve relevant issues?

Obviously there will be the routine contributors of flak and chaff but that's the penalty of a public forum.

Is there anyone else interested in taking up the challenge?

Both responses are good although Fraginals is more constructive. I'm leaving the question open in hopes it may inspire someone who has the ability, interest and motivation to follow- up. I'm too new at this to be affective.

Pretty Birds has a valid point except power to run the country is vested in the people. If Politicians take it over it is buecause they've been allowed to.

Repair has to start somewhere and maybe i't awareness. I like the old adage,

You're either part of the solution or part of the problem. There is no middle line, and in-action is actuallty part of the problem.

I think the problems we have with the global environment is beyond an on-line portal and forum. Scientists and governments are more than aware of the issues. But unless they take a unified course of action to rectify the problems, then we will never solve this issue. Individuals can put in place plans to cut back their own use of earth's resources and play a part in the solution, but we need a more global effort to fix the earth's problems.

I think the only way to get this vital information out there is to get politicians involved. It has to become an important topic in the campiangs for would be presidents for global warming and the environment to become and important issue. This would be very difficult because terrisom is such a big issue facing the world. More people will die because of global warming than in any war. Our government needs to determine whats important, which sadly in this day and age is irrelevant.

Ask Al Gore. I hear he spends a fortune on energy bill.

There are millions of people dying of hunger and of other ills. It makes much more sense to me to try and feed them, rather than worrying that it might get warm in Alaska. Next time the temperature drops below freezing, let's not heat up our homes. I'm thinking of taking a dip in an Oscar winner's swimming pool.

An online forum will do no good if the politicians who run this country are not involved in some way. They need to see that it is an important issue to many. They also need proof that we are not just spouting our mouths, but rather are eliciting decent banter.

Post a list, by country, of all the coal-fired electricity-generating power plants under construction. Show, by country, the dates that they start operating. Show, by country the total number of coal plants in operation and the total annual Co2 emissions made by those plants.

Then show, by country, the number of nuclear plants under construction. Show, by country, the dates that they start operating. Show, by country, the total number of nuclear plants in operation and the total annual Co2 emissions made by those plants.
