Booth sales vary. Stores which allow Girl Scouts (or others) to sell outside their stores vary as well. Even within the same city, one Safeway store (or WalMart, as that's where they are often sold in my city) may allow the sales, while another one may not.

There are several Girl Scout "councils" in the Los Angeles area. You can go to this website and put in your zipcode http://www.girlscoutcookies.org/ (you can use it to find cookies anywhere in the USA) and it will tell you which Girl Scout council is closest to you and whether or not there are cookies currently being sold by that council. It will then refer you to the council's website, if there is one, so that you can find out more.

For "Angeles Council", for example, which handles central Los Angeles, you find on that website that you can call (310) 450-3720 and they will tell you when and where girls will have booth sales near you, or they will refer you to a troop which might sell to you directly. Cookie sales end on March 25th for Angeles Council, so you'll have to hurry!

Other councils in the area include:

Girl Scouts of Greater Long Beach Council http://www.gscglb.org/
Girl Scouts of Mt. Wilson Vista Council (in Arcadia) http://www.gsmwvc.org/
Girl Scouts of Orange County Council http://www.gscoc.org/
Girl Scouts of San Fernando Valley Council http://www.sfvgsc.org/
Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council (Redlands) http://www.gssgc.org/
Girl Scouts of Spanish Trails Council (Montclair) http://www.gsspanishtrails.org/
Girl Scouts of Tres Condados Council (Santa Barbara and covers Ventura, Oxnard, etc.) http://www.gstc.org

All of the council websites have some sort of link to "cookie sales" where you can get the council phone number or an email address to contact for more information about where cookies are being sold this weekend.

Many Girl Scout councils are "merging" in the next year or two, so there will soon be only two councils - one for Los Angeles and Ventura counties, one for Riverside, Orange, and San Bernadino counties. For now, though, you may have to check with more than one council.

Quick, go directly to your nearest Safeway store or any Safeway store in the area. Safeway is the prime spot for Girl Scout cookies.

If you can't find a booth, you might try EBAY.com. Hope that helps.
