There are soy milks, almond milks and rice milks on the market. For a buttery spread, use Earth Balance.

well of course there is all the soy products out there like milk and cheese made of soy (the american soy singles are way better melted than as is let me tell you). Also there are tofu alternatives like tofu cream cheese. And almond milk too! Most safeways have and organic section now where a lot of these products are. I don't know where you live but maybe a Whole Foods or Trader Joes is around you...or not...
www.theppk.com or the post punk kitchen is all vegan recipes so you can find other lactose free options there.

Well, as the above poster has said - soy is the way to go. You can get soya milk, soya yoghurt and soy cheese (though I have to admit the cheese isn't fantastic).
If you can't get it locally, you can order most things online these days.
By the way, I'm guessing that you meant dairy not diary. Otherwise I've no idea where you have been getting a lactose based calendar from!!

Look near the vegetables in the biggest grocery store around you. Surely they have some soy or rice products... milk, cheese etc..
If you are hurting, you can always order some stuff from this website. This is what I do when I want cool things because where I live is pretty lame too.

You can get bakery and chocolate and dairy substitutes.
:)
Good luck, man.

Hey.
For a milk substitute I have dumped soymilk for almond milk.
Almond milk tastes more like regular milk in drinks or cereals than soymilk does and is a great 'soy breaker'. Soy is good, but it's not good to replace all your milk products with soy.
Also, besides soy cheese, there is also rice cheese. It's quite good.

I suggest rice milk. It's taste and consistency is comperable to a cow's skim milk. It comes in plain and vanilla flavors and works well on cereal, for baking, hot cocoa and anywhere else you would normally use milk.
The really nice part is that you don't get that nasty film on top if you need to heat it! (hooray!)

raw milk, straight from the cow, is a great option for lactose intolerant or milk allergic people. Raw milk contains all of the enzymes necessary to digest itself. Google rawmilk.com or the weston price foundation for more info
