Porcine means relating to a pig, or from a pig. If we are sticking to health, porcine insulin comes from pig pancreas.

Porcine means from a pig. I've generally heard this term in reference to a porcine valve replacement where a human heart valve is replaced by a valve from a pig's heart.

I think of it as meaning, "piggishly fat" but it can go a little further than that. Here's one set of definitions that I think covers everything:

Porcine: adjective
1. relating to or suggesting swine; "comparison between human and porcine pleasures"
2. repellently fat; "a bald porcine old man" [syn: gross]
3. resembling swine; coarsely gluttonous or greedy; "piggish table manners"; "the piggy fat-cheeked little boy and his porcine pot-bellied father"; "swinish slavering over food" [syn: hoggish]
