tilt your head back while standing, put a klenex in it and pinch your nose. Your nose is very vascular so it will bleed a lot mroe then a normal cut.

I totally agree with Ninja636. He knows what he's talking about. But in addition to his answer, I would look to add that you are best off laying down. If you are not in public, and at home, just find a flat spot on the floor and lay down while compressing the top of your nose (right under your nose bone) with some tissues. Pinch it for five minutes and start breathing out of your nose to dry some of the blood. Also, DO NOT TILT YOUR HEAD BACK. This does nothing. You will just get blood into your throat.

pinch your nose and look up. You need to elevate the area to stop the bleeding. Adding ice to the area will help this as well. Might be a good idea to stick some soft kleenex or tissue in the nostrils to soak up the dripping blood so it doesn't drip or stain your clothing or furniture either.

Actually you pinch the bridge of your nose with your thumb and forefinger and tilt your head forward. You run the risk of aspirating blood into your lungs if you tilt it back. Also if it's a bleed due to trauma like a car accident you want it to bleed freely due to possible basilar skull fracture and increased intercranial pressure.

I really don't know...was never troubled by them but some kids at school got them a lot.
They would tilt their head back and pack the nostrils with kleenex. If you are older it could be a sign of high blood pressure...so see a doctor. Otherwise, I have no answer for you.
